I think that this subject is just about done now, nobody on here can change the way the work has been done and we can debate it until the cows come home but I think we should just accept things and enjoy our holidays! We are out in a few weeks and are interested to see what has gone on but it is what it is and I think we should start discussing something else now!

What Tangofan, there's phase 2 yet to come!! :););)

250,000 views by August methinks.

In regards to the sea side walls, they are going to be pulled down and rebuilt, the seating replaced by new ones FACING the sea and positioned on the pavement and not as part of the wall.

PS I´m only the messenger : )

Molt

Well this is new! So the idea of the pavement being opened up to create a wider walkway, is now going to be clogged up by seating on the actual pavement? Interesting concept!

I suppose it makes sense really to have seating looking out over the bay.
Will be better than having to watch cyclists and cars going the wrong way down a one way road ;)

Hi debz1, Did you think they were looking the wrong way all these years or nice to see what was going on along the paseo ? Did you really think this is all wrong.

I never thought about seats looking out to sea before as I'm so used to the ones set into the wall. I suppose this way it will give people the best of both worlds as presumably you'll still be able to sit on the wall and watch the world go by ( and the people looking at the beach/bay!) :)

probably going out of the thread , but I am sure there is a connection. Just read a blog by the eu moll people about the renting of the services on the beach. It sounds pretty drastic with tenders to be in within a pretty scary time scale.( 8 days ) after being totally forgotten about.I think of Molt & his major Spanish construction companies & its a pity that they & their admin departments were not involved with all major activities in P.P.

This has been reported here :- http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/beaches/12635-beds-brollies-2016-a-8.html#post111545 ;):).

But whats gone wrong with the organisation bit in PP

It has just occurred to me that I think they haven't specified on which side of the road they are going to install the seating.

I'm off to the bookies to see what the odds are that the next six messages won't add much to a rather tired thread. Perhaps time to take it out and shoot it. :)

I disagree, this thread has kept us going through the depths of winter here, with the promise of getting over to see the improvements, lots of interesting, informative posts, some not so, but enjoyable for the most part for some of us sitting in our offices wishing we could be over there seeing it for ourselves, and not joking about part two, more important changes happening next winter!! :)

There are many members who have yet to see the work for themselves and they no doubt will want to voice their own opinions, therefore i will not close this thread. We can start a new thread when phase 2 begins.

However if you have already shared your views can i ask you respectfully to please just sit back and let it go, also if any member has a problem with any posts do feel free to use the "Report" facility, it's the exclamation mark in a red triangle at the top of each post.

Thank you for your support in this :).

We are here and have been skipping up and down the new pavement for the last couple of days, it really is very nice. Pollenca will be much better for it, roll on next year when it may be finished

This has just been posted on FB, please don't shoot the messenger ;) :-

BREAKING NEWS TODAY: This morning the traffic on the front line of Puerto Pollensa was disrupted as the road workers have started laying what seems to be a thick layer of tarmac / asphalt on the driveway of Paseo Saralegui, starting from Avenida de Paris towards El Cano and the harbour / Helados Valls roundabout. It means all of the area will now be on one plan / level accessible also to wheelchairs, etc. This is something that had been postponed until November, but instead is being implemented now.

What, surely that's crazy!!! Are they just not laying extra crossing, that would take weeks to lay that thickness of tarmac the whole length from the roudabout to ave Paris!!
