NEW rules for THE Balearics

Just read, sadly, on the internet, that majorca and the other islands will have to impose face mask wearing in all outdoor and indoor settings from 24th july.

Anyone confirm this???

Don’t think that’s right. Anyway, already imposed indoors.

No this is not true unless it`s changed since earlier in the week. We have always had to wear masks indoors except when eating and drinking and the government now advise wearing them outdoors if social distancing isn`t possible.

These are the latest regulations......

From this Saturday all social gatherings involving people from different households are banned after 1am. The measure will last for the next two weeks.

From this Thursday, restaurants will have to close by 1am. and restrictions introduced on seating, eight people per table (instead of 12) outside and four people (instead of six) inside. But the Balearic government has decided not to make the mask compulsory again in public areas.

PCR test

Hi all
We are hopefully returning to Pollensa for a week in September.
Could anyone let me know where we can get our PCR test in Pollensa 72 hours before we fly home?
Thanks in advance

We used Juaneda in the Formentor Road for our lateral flow tests last month - excellant - results via e mail within 30 minutes - cost €30. Can book and pay online. They do PCR tests as well for €75. I think they now have a place near Pollensa Park Hotel. There is also Dr Majorca on the front near the Tabacs. But please check the recent Govt guidelines as I believe the PCR test is advisory not compulsary so a lateral flow test will do. Not coming back until September so I’m sure the rules will change again!

Dr Mallorca - Excellent

We used Dr Mallorca in Puerto Pollensa. Phoned to book appointment but do think you can go in to their premises and book. Very efficient, timely and good communication. We had Antigen (Lateral Flow) which surpassed the GOV.UK Percentages for Sensitivity and Specificity. 30 Euros, result in 15 Minutes, Paper Result in English as also required by Gov.UK. You need to take your Passports as details go on the certificate result.Would only use PCR if it becomes compulsory. PS 75 Euros for PCR.

There are now 4 test shops in the port. Juaneda on the Formentor Road by Na Ruixa, Dr. Mallorca on the front next to the new frozen yoghurt shop, Dr. Caro behind Motors Formentor and a new one on the main road into port which I noticed yesterday

Hoping that PCR tests will not be necessary on returning to U.K. in October - but just checking the company we used in July which cost £40 - excellent service results within 24 hours of posting them - to find they are now charging £65! Will leave my research until nearer the time as things seem to change very quickly. Roll on 19th September when we return.

Was that because you needed only a day 2 test in July and now you need a day two and day 8 test?

Nearly got all my paperwork assembled for this weekend, but didn't realize we needed Day 8 Tests as well; are you sure, I find it very hard to keep up with all the changes.

Only Day 2 if double jabbed if coming into U.K. from Spain. Government website is reliable source of information.

What are people being asked for at the medical check in Palma now?

A few weeks back we just had our fast pass but now we have to prove vaccination?

I've not done my "Spain Travel Health" form yet but I've got the NHS certificate thru the post and a downloaded version ..
