Hi

Does anyone no which hotels are open throughout the winter :)

I'm sure that PP forum people who are residents will come up with some ideas but in the meantime, there is a link on the left hand side of the page to Hotels and Aparthotels which would be a good place to start looking:)

Sorry i missed this one, there are no hotels open at the moment but the good news is that the Pollensa Park and Sis Pins will open in mid February around the 14th/15th also there is a sign up on the Daina which says they are opening on March 11th. :D

I understand that Sis Pins is not opening until March now whilst they complete the refurbishment of the restaurant and bar area which has been taken over by the lovely Bar Cappuccinos. I also heard a rumour the other day that Pollensa Park was not opening either but that is not confirmed. Illa dor hotel and apartments are opening towards end February - think about 25th but actual date escapes me at present.

I expect the hotels in Pollensa town open all year?

Son Sant Jordi is open, Ive just checked, never stayed but looks lovely:)

I don't think the Juma opens as an hotel until the Spring - the Posada de Lluc also opens a bit later, I think in February or March. You'd need to check their website. That's a lovely hotel to stay in if it's open - as is the Son San Jordi.

I spoke to one of the bar managers of the Pollensa Park this afternoon and he confirmed they will open next Saturday the 19th February. :)

Winter Hotels

Am pleased to let everyone know that the Pension Bellavista in Puerto Pollensa is open all winter. :)

It is a modest hotel, located in the Carrer des Monges, but the rooms are large and very clean and have good ensuite shower rooms. I've stayed there several times and feel it so nice to find a small individually run hotel - ie not part of a chain.
There is some lovely artwork hanging in the hotel too.

The garden restaurant will be open from March.

Thanks Lorenzo. Looks like a very individual and comfortable place. Just took a peek at their "gallery of photos"! Wish I hadn't! Oh to be that young, beautiful and full of life again! Just the thing to make you feel better on Valentines Day - and a Monday as well! :D

One of the girls who works there was a waitress in Nostalgia in 2009, she is a lovely girl and the garden restaurant is totally vegetarian, i have not tried it but it has a very good reputation here. :)

Confused re location now, looking at the pictures it shows in on the beach front, was this the original location only, isn't the Hostal on the second road back from the front?

SWS that must have been it's original location, it is now in Monges which is one of the roads that run up from the front. I think Pub Imperial is on the corner but i could well be wrong.

P.S i am sure you would love the restaurant, as i said before, it has a good reputation here among the locals.

Thanks Sparky, I have worked out where I think it is, because of all the new places I want to try next time over, this is top of the list, really looking forward to trying it and reporting back, looks brilliant for veggies :)

Definitely looks like a nice place but perhaps not suitable for families or seniors but I stand to be corrected.

I thought the same thing Whaley but the photos are not recent, some are dated 2005. I do know a guy in his late 50s and quite staid in his ways who loves the place and won't stay anywhere else in the port. :)

It looks like they do cater for children though, you can have an extra bed in your room for 10 euros

I can vouch for the food - we had a couple of meals there last October and they were excellent and very reasonably priced! A word of warning though - dont sit under the big fig tree as when they are ripe they dont care where they land! A couple landed on my light coloured trousers - not a pretty sight:eek:

Bellavista is owned by a dentist who has a gorgeous villa on Pine Walk (cd's and my favourite one :)) In a lot of the photos is the owners son, the rather gorgeous Alfonso (the blonde guy with the ponytail) who has known my girls since they were teenagers. He is also a dentist and a few years back organised 'Dentistas a Ruedas' (Dentists on Wheels) where he went to Africa to help the poor with their teeth!

A charming family and equally charming little hotel :)

Trying to read Debz' post too quickly, I read it as

"Belladonna is owned by a dentist"

Humble apologies!:o

We had a look round Bellavista, purely for research a few years ago, and were quietly impressed at the time and now it has been upgraded, it must be very nice, room wise.

On our visit to PP last October we had a look at the dining area and to be honest would have tried it but for the weather being a bit unfavourable.

Sorry to hear about the trousers Rosie, can see how the accident happened!

Porto;)
