Bradley Wiggins Holidaying & House-hunting in PP
As most know, Team Sky & the GB cyclists are regulars to PP & Alcudia for training. The MDB also reported on Wednesday that (Sir) Bradley Wiggins & his family were flying out to PP for a well deserved holiday.
Tonights London Evening Standard goes one further:-
CYCLING hero Bradley Wiggins has flown to Spain for a well-earned rest after his Tour de France and Olympic triumphs.
Wiggins is staying in his favourite resort of Port de Pollenca on the north-east coast of Majorca with wife Catherine and their children Ben and Isabella. He is expected to mix days on the beach with some house-hunting.

A great night was had last night at Nostalgia as Bradley Wiggins came in and performed three of his favourite songs.He started with that classic from 1970,The Push Bike Song and then followed this with This Wheels On Fire made famous by Julie Driscoll and The Brian Auger Trinity and finally Ring My Bell origionally recorded by Anita Ward.
He spoke to a few people afterwards although some didn't like his performance and rudely shouted "On ya bike." Later on,although he said that he was tyred, he was wheeled out and steered to the stage to do another number and this time suprised all by taking off his shirt and rippling his muscles to Wheels Cha Cha by The Joe Loss Orchestra.It really took me back to the time when "Opportunity Knocks" was on the TV.Also it appeared that he had started to grow a handlebar moustache to go with his,now famous,sideburns. The only incident during this performance was when a Lookie Lookie man had to be ejected for pedalling his wares.This pleased the crowd as everybody was cross bar none.The evening went so fast and,after he had left,it was downhill all the way so,after a short brake, I left hoping that he will be saddled by Colin to come in again as I had been so pumped up by his performance.

Excellent post Stevo - great play on words! Sounds like a brilliant night!
This made me think of how we measure 'celebs' - what does it really mean? To me Bradley is a true celeb who has become one due to his success, skills and total dedication to his sport. Well done him! He sounds such a nice person too.
Some become celebs by reading the odd script and playing a part. Others by recording a one hit wonder - nothing wrong with this of course but isn't it nice to see someone awarded with the title 'celeb' for achieving so much for themselves as well as their country plus putting their sport on the map - UK and of course Pollensa.
Keep up the good work Bradley and while keeping those feet on the pedals, keep them on the ground too and stay the lovely person you are! Congrats to him!

Sete Benavides.
I have just watched Puerto Pollensa's home grown celebrity go through to the kayak final in the Olympics, Sete Benavides is a member of the yacht club here in the Port and i am told there is going to be a reception held in his honour there on Tuesday when he is back home, hopefully with the gold medal

Looks like Charley Boorman is in PP at the mo! He has posted a pic of the sand sculptures on his facebook page.
With Charley and Wiggo there at the mo. I would be in heaven if I was there. They are two down to earth blokes that I would love to have a beer with.
