Bahia De Pollensa Hotel More

We are going to be staying at the Hotel More in August and I am thinking of cancelling
I have been reading some very bad reviews on-line since making the booking.
Can anyone with knowledge of the hotel give me some real feedback.
I know it's a basic hotel away from the hustle of the main resorts and thats what we want, but I have read reviews on-line of young locals causing problems from drug taking to thefts etc.

Hi,
I have stayed at the Bahia several times both when it was privately owned and now by a large group.
We stayed there a year ago and as you say it is Basic but we have had no problems . It certainly has an excellent location and the food is not to bad. Try to get a room in the front.

I think that this question is about Hotel More (is that right?) in More Vermell near es Barcares which is towards Alcudia but still in the Bahia of Pollensa. It is quite an isolated area with just 2 hotels & a couple of bars.

It sounded ideal. We required somewhere clean, tidy and peaceful, it fitted the bill and was cheaper than I was expecting to pay.

The other day I was checking some car hire on-line and read a few hotel review sites. I was gobsmacked to read a couple of posted reviews saying lower floor rooms had been burgled, drugged up young people, described as locals, hanging around causing problems through the night with loud music from their cars and guests being mugged.

Was hoping to get some info from anyone who lives in the Pollensa area or does no one venture out of Puerto Pollensa over the overside of the bay.

It is misleading to put Bahia de Pollenca before the title of this hotel!
Though it probably is on the bay, the address is Alcudia.

Please do not be confused. This item does not relate to the Bahia Pollensa Aparthotel in Llenaire, Puerto Pollensa.

There are plenty of reviews here

www.tripadvisor.com & whilst it is described as quiet & fairly basic, there's no mention of burglaries or muggings!

Hmmmmm.

The hotel and it's little beach has wonderful views across the Bay of Pollensa.
Okay, I get the feeling of "don't mention Alcudia on our forum"

I was only asking for a little info from someone who knew the area. Usually people who live in an area have some knowledge, even if it is across the Bay!!!

Oh, and please accept my humble apologies for confusing you with my unintentional mistake on the subject line of this thread. Give myself 100 lines .. I must not put Bahia de Pollensa before Hotel More, as it is in Alcudia.

I have visited PP a few times in the last 15 months, love the place and read this forum many times.
What has suprised me is the snobbery and almost total lack of knowledge of the surrounding area outside of fortress Puerto Pollensa from those who reside there.

I'm sorry if you felt that my brief response indicated a "fortress Puerto Pollensa" mentality. It was not intended.
I hoped to avoid some confusion with the hotel you were referring to and the Bahia Pollensa Aparthotel.
I live in Puerto Pollensa, but spend a lot of time in Alcudia and Puerto Alcudia. I am again sorry that you have misinterpreted my brief response.
It was intended to be helpful.
As for a lack of knowledge of the surrounding area. I know the area well, know the area round Hotel More, both in and out of season, but do not have experience of staying at the hotel.

I'm sorry that you have obviously taken offence when I simply intended to be helpful.

I will think again before I contribute to the forum.

I do think you were being over-sensitive & your comment re 'fortress pollensa' was unnecessary. We regularly wander about the area & often visit Barcares, More Vermell, Alcanada, Puerto Alcudia & Alcudia old town. And I'm sure many other members do as well.

I couldn't comment on the hotel because I haven't stayed there hence I pointed to you some encoraging reviews I had found.

If you'd like feedback from our members please don't criticise them. There was just a little confusion re the name of the hotel as there is one called 'Bahia de Pollensa' - that's all.

My question regarded concerns of the anti-social behaviour around the hotel as well as any info on the hotel itself.
The response is a little "It maybe on the Bahia de Pollensa but it's in Alcudia and not PP"

I will say sorry to your members and give the forum a wide berth in future.
