I have always found this forum an absolute gold mine of information regarding PP. If I ever had a question or requested advice, there would always be someone who could help.

However for a couple of months now the above subjects have caused a lot of tension at times which I am sure is not what Pollensa intended when she created this forum. I have no intention of adding my sixpennorth on these subjects – I think enough has been said.

My point of this post is perhaps to ask everybody to take a deep breath and just step back a bit. I am sure that everybody who has posted has one thing in common and that is their love of all things Puerto Pollensa, me included, and that is probably why we all get a bit emotional about it.

What prompted me to write this today, was hearing about the poor lady who died crossing the road not long after starting her holiday. So tragic – it really does put things into prospective.

I think we can all agree that this year has definitely been PP's annus horribilis.

I do agree that sometimes some of the posts have an angrier and more frustrated tone than perhaps one might expect on a holiday forum - but I think that's because many of us visit the place frequently, so it feels like a second home, and some of us are lucky enough to live there, so we do tend to get annoyed by certain issues to do with infrastructure and government - just as we would at home. I think any negativity stems from our passion for the place and our desire to see it run as well and look as beautiful as it possibly can - which is understandable. I know back home relatively minor local gripes such as late bin collections have caused me to vent inappropriately with steam coming out of my ears! - but it is important that we don't allow our frustrations to spoil the PP experience for others and to give an unfair impression of the place - which remains one of the most beautiful and unspoilt destinations I've personally ever visited.

What surprises me is that no enterprising individual (such as Chinese emporium) hasn't had the brilliant idea of importing some cheap brollies and flogging them on the market:D or maybe they have - we haven't visited market so far this time!

Plenty of brollies in the new Chinese emporium under the Taylor Woodrow flats.

Where are the Taylor Woodrow flats please as I may be needing them !!

These Chinese shops amaze me There was a massive one near where we stayed in Lanzarote and I remember they had lots of beach furniture as well as everything else you could possibly want

I will still keep my fingers crosses re the beach one being out !

There were loads outside the Chinese shop near Lidl on the way into Pollensa too
