Just had pamphlets from Jet2 Holidays reminding us of the excellent holiday we had in PP this year and inviting us to book for next year, flying from Blackpool........ only £60 deposit

As I read it the operating side is going into liquidation but Balfour Beatty will retain the land.

Flying out to our hols in PP will not be quite the same via Manchester or Liverpool, I'm afraid. May have to consider Leeds Bradford over the hill in Yorkshire

We use Manchester airport at least 6 times a year and its a good airport - certainly if Blackpool is currently your nearest then Manchester is much closer for you than Leeds/Bradford

We also use Liverpool on occasions and that is also not a bad airport - its quite small and so lacks the shopping at Manchester but is an easy route through due to there not being many people around - its just a lot further for us to travel

Manchester will also offer you far more choice of airline - I think Blackpool only ever had Jet2 who can be a bit basic at times and have that annoying, patronising announcer who seems to be taking off some generic northerner ( I often wonder whether their southern flights have a generic cockney doing their announcing )
