Great to see on Facebook that historic restaurant Can Pacienci is open again - and this time offering a buffet menu.
"OPENING 1 MAY 2023 BUFFET RESTAURANT POLLENCA
Welcome to the historical restaurant Ca'n pacienci!
We are located opposite the Lidl in Pollença and are open continuously from 12:30 to 22:00.
We are not a classic "à la carte" restaurant.
With us there is always a buffet with salad bar, appetisers, main courses and desserts.
We don't forget the children, the over-65s and sportsmen and women!
The price is €17 (€23 on weekends), à volenté!

There is a private parking for cars and cyclists.
Reservation is not compulsory, but recommended at +34 691 119 486
See you soon!"

But are the original people still involved or is it a new restaurant and people trading off the goodwill of the old name in the same building?

;)

I’ll get my coat!

To be fair to them i think they have made it clear that it is not the same as before.

Review?

It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has given it a try! I'm always a bit suspicious of 'buffet' restaurants, but I have been to some good ones in my time!
Not in PP right now or I would have been a willing guinea pig/tester!

I’ve heard it’s been taking on by a German couple.

If this were the case it will be clean, well run and good value for money, which doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be cheap.

Will definitely go next time I am over. In the meantime, I will be interested to read member’s reports.

Unfortunately (or maybe not), I am not over 65, neither am I a sportsman and, according to old fashioned standards, am definitely not a woman.

Julian, the price is €17 on weekdays and €23 weekends

We usually feel the same way about buffet style places, but I've seen a couple of their pictures on social media and it actually looks very nice, so we are planning on giving it a try.
Will report back when we do :)

If you wish to be a Guinea pig tester may I suggest that you try the new Peruvian restaurant in town.

What?

debz1 - have a look at #1. Couple of assumptions, whereas the British tend to focus on sarcasm and irony (eg #9) the Germans have a slightly different slant on ‘humour’ (but it is, nevertheless, humour) and for that matter, informative ..

If only I was in PP right now - I would test them both :D

Hi all, we just popped in to see what was happening here. We pulled into the car park to take a look at the building and we were amazed at how beautifully the new owners had rebuilt what was in fact a ruin beforehand.
As we started to drive out, the lady owner popped out and waived to us. We stopped and asked if we could take a look around. Her and her husband seemed delightful and the buffet looked really nice, plentiful and fresh. The meat for today was Pork fillet.
It seems the perfect place to go on a summer afternoon or evening for a light meal. It's not fine dining obviously, but for the price it seems a great option, especially if you have children
We wish them all the luck, and we will definitely pop in when our grandchildren come over in a couple of weeks

Just back home after two week stay, wet and windy. Beside visiting our usual favourites such as Suirriel, Neptuno etc. we also visited the new Peruvian place, Cerviche. A bit small but very comfy. A few teething problems but the menu was interesting with the food being very good.
Will add this to our list of regulars. Good to see a new and varied place in the port.
