Crime in Puerto Pollensa concerns

Hi we are a family of 4 (2 Adults and 2 young Children) we have not been to Puerto Pollensa before. I am wondering as we have a Villa Rented for late September what crime is like in the area against Tourists and specifically those in Villas.
Have there been any incidents this season that we maybe should be aware of and to take precautions against? If there are is it generally a case of people being too laid back while on Holiday and not securing the property or have there been incidents where people have been in and found someone in the Villa that sort of thing. Probably an overactive imagination but always cautious of new areas with my young family any info would be appreciated thank you in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum Malc84, criminals operate everywhere and PP is not immune, there are reports of pickpockets in shops and markets as has been discussed recently here on this thread http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/miscellaneous/8761-safety-security-pp-8.html. As I have said on there, do take all the precautions that you would normally take to make it very difficult for them to target you.

PP is still very safe in comparison to other places in the world, enjoy your holiday .
