So our daughter and her fiance went out to PP and we joined them 5 days later but left 2 days after them.

That's 4 different flights.

In reverse order of delay:

One was 40 mins, then 1 hour, 1 hour 40mins and the winner, 8 hours!

My friend flew from Edinburgh to Gatwick today. 6 am flight, took off at 9.30 am.

Another friend's daughter flew back from Greece, last flight, delayed 2 hours.

Is it just me, and my family and friends, or is anyone else finding EasyJet a nightmare at the moment?

Just the opposite. We have had great experience with EJ lately.
True we were delayed 3 hours coming to Palma on the day the airport was flooded, but that was not the fault of EJ. The crew were exceptional in dealing with the delay.
Return flight was on time.
We travel every month with them, and flights often take off late but the make up the most of the delay because they have slack in their flight time.

On another site people were reporting that there are significant ATC delays all over Europe.

To be honest, I think that is very unfair to easyJet. We fly to and from Palma most months of the year and they are an excellent and punctual airline. The current problems are entirely due to air traffic restrictions. Think yourself lucky you flew with easyJet……when schedules are massively disrupted Ryanair just cancel flights and leave passengers to fend for themselves.

I’ve even heard passengers blame airlines for delays when weather conditions have made it unsafe to fly!

To take a balanced view, I do think it important to see the bigger picture before apportioning blame. Please don’t take offence……it’s just my opinion.

They were excellent when we used them this month. Check in really quick, flight left on time. Only slight issue was a 45 minute delay on the return flight when we were already on the plane, but down to ( surprise surprise) the French ATC.
Always found them decent.

Yes, I must admit that I too am reasonably content with their service. In fact, I am sure that I use them more often than any other airline.

However, I am also pretty sure that they are the current leader of the flight delay timetable, out of Belfast International Airport. And that apples particularly to flights going to Palma, sadly. But as you say, they frequently make up the lost time during the flight. Also, I must remember that if they were to stop flying from Belfast International, then they may as well close the place. And I also agree that from now until late August we will worry more about Air Traffic Controllers, rather than Easyjet. Fingers crossed

Interesting replies, thanks.

To be honest having been coming to PP since 1998, and after buying our property there in 2015, doing nearly monthly flights, we have on the whole had no trouble.

I suspect it's just a little run of bad luck that can happen.

Oh well, let's see hat happens in July and Sept!!

Yeah, no question that as we hit the peak summer period, the flight delays happen more often. We have had no real issues since last summer, but had a delay on our flight back mid June. It seems the later the flight, the more chance of delays IMO. Always fly EJ.
