Is anyone on here an easyJet Plus member?

Our current membership expires end of Sept 2022. We've booked our usual villa for the first two weeks in Oct next year but Oct 2022 flights are not yet available (should be soon?).

When they are available I was hoping to book them straight away. I just wondered if their system would still allow me to use the membership or would recognize the flight dates are beyond your current membership and won't allow it?? I can't see anything in the easyJet Plus FAQ and I'm loathed to phone and sit in a queue.

Well, you can always try!

I was a member during several years and reached the conclusion that it's just not worth it.
It is cheaper to pay normal fare plus speedy boarding plus seat selection and whatever other extras you want, if you make less that 5 return flights per year (10 legs) per person. The only thing you lose is the "priority line for security control"....... which is available only in a few airports of which Palma is not part.

Thanks, I'll need to wait until their Winter 2022 schedule is published.

I worked it out at less than that. I was just booking flights to Madrid next month and to get the overhead locker luggage was £35 (each) for the upfront seat selection alone.

To actually answer your question (!), we have booked flights beyond the expiry of our renewal date before without a problem and then renewed the membership when it falls due. I’ve no idea what would happen if you didn’t renew the membership before travelling.

EasyJet Plus doesn’t work for everyone, but we are lucky enough to travel regularly enough for it to be good value for us (not everyone knows that it also entitles you to a 10% discount from onboard Bistro and Fast Track security at many airports). We never check in luggage so being guaranteed cabin baggage, wherever you sit, is also helpful.

Thanks @Disorderly, that's helpful. I did ask easyJet themselves via Twitter this afternoon and whilst they replied it was just to point to me at the easyJet Plus T&C's webpage.

We stopped using Easyjetplus during the lockdown. However it allowed flight booking up to the expiry date even for flights taken later and after it had expired

Palma fast track security has been included for easyJet Plus members since at least last December which is the first time I had the opportunity to use it. It has been quite a handy perk over the busy summer period.

Not an Easyjet plus member, but I am in the EJ Flight Club, which seems to be awarded to regular EJ customers. It has a few benefits, such as being able to change flights FOC, although since the pandemic, that is a available to all currently. You also get a Flight Club telephone no. so able to get through to people if you have issues.

I had been booking extra leg room, so I can get a couple of bags on the plane and speedy boarding, but on my next trip, Im just taking a small rucksack. I paid £6 for my flights as I had a £33 voucher and £51 for my car hire for five days, so definitely a budget trip! :) As mentioned on another thread those Nov flights are now £229.

We have Flight Club in addition to Plus. The FOC flight changes (in normal times) are very handy. There’s also a price promise that if the cost comes down after you’ve booked, easyJet will give you a voucher for the difference. The same applies if you see a cheaper cost with another airline within 48 hrs of booking. You can have up to five passenger name changes per year for free.

You can’t apply for it……it’s given for free to frequent fliers who meet certain criteria and is reviewed every year. You need to have booked and flown over 20 flights over the last 12 months, or have booked and flown over 10 flights and spent £1,500 in the last 12 months, or have booked and flown an average of 10+ flights for ten years with one flight every year (that’s how we got in).

Hope that helps.

Thanks Dunc....I wasn't aware of the criteria. It helps that I book my mates ski and golf trips and now when I come out to PP with my mates, I book them too, so I'm well in. The ability to move dates and names is invaluable, because it usually costs a fortune.

I'd completely forgotten about Flight Club. These posts reminded me that I had this once and I think they extended through lockdown. Went back through my emails and found one from 1st May last year that said:

"With most of Europe remaining in lockdown, this is a difficult time for everyone, particularly those who love to fly. We grounded our fleet a few weeks ago and, as a frequent traveller, it’s likely you’ll have been impacted more than others by this. Naturally, we’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and appreciate your patience at this time.

Your Flight Club membership 9999999 has been extended until 19 September 2021
".

Oh well...

I took out easyJet Plus membership this morning and booked my Madrid flights - that saved me £172 so well on the way to recovering the costs. Also I noticed although I took it out today the membership expires 31/10/22.

I must admit that because I am in the Flight Club ( always reminds me of Fight Club!) I hadn't thought about getting EJ plus. But just looking at the perks of it, I think I will go for it. Does it cover all people I make bookings for?

I love not being a member. I sit in the terminal reading a book etc and stroll on to the plane dead last, sit down and go! £35 return this weekend...

This time, my new aim is to take no bags onto the plane whatsoever.

Anyone fancy a pint saturday night?

Maybe not quite so easy for folk travelling with family and children. Enjoy the pint though! 😁
