Well first appointment with Physio today & she reckons if it was long haul they probably would say no, but will need to speak with surgeon when I go back to see him on Tuesday. She also thinks if he says yes that I will need a letter from him to show when going through airport security because of the plate inserted. Never heard of that before mind. Not bothered as long as I get the thumbs up.

I have had plates in my forearm for many years and have never set off the machine at the airport,so don't think that is a problem. Good Luck

Good news, got the all clear to have our holiday thank god. With regards to the letter for airport security, the doctor said I would need one & will supply in due course. Good job it was pointed out to me as I have never heard of it. Other good news is my sling comes off the day before I fly, so happy holidays then return to have second operation to remove plate & hook. No waterparks this year for me, just have to stand back & watch the kids. A small price to pay I suppose.

So glad you are getting away. Unfortunately my mother passed away. I am a nurse and knew it would happen, so my family think I need some time out and I can't think anywhere better to be.
