My first post!
A very good evening to you all. As a regular visitor to PP for the last 15 years, it is fair to say that I love it as much as the regulars to the forum. For the last 10 years, I have enjoyed reading the forum news and messages on an almost daily basis, but unfortunately despite several attempts, I have never been able to join in, due to the IT issues which go back at least 5years! It has been frustrating not being able to join in the banter, or indeed offer some advice on the rare occasion that a question has been asked that I know the answer to. I am grateful now for the updated forum and access for new members.

Over the years, with my wife and 3 children, usually with grandparents too, we have enjoyed one or two trips a year, initially staying in children friendly hotels (puerto azul and playa mar), sampling villas all around the area, and for many years now apartments and hotels right in the centre. Our favourite is the Mira Mar and will be there again in the summer.

As for restaurants, I have relied on the forum for inspiration over the years, especially when there used to be the annual survey of the best three. Unfortunately, our family favourite restaurant closed down a few years ago - I know many of you with remember it fondly too - Trios! We also love Stay, Coral and La roc, Tollos and the kids always insist on last night at DAKOTA on the front. For daytime food we have always loved takeaways from Al Fresco, although recently we have found the opening times to be really inconsistent so this year we may be looking for a plan b!

After eating we love a few drinks on the front, the lemon bar being a favourite, but no holiday is complete without an evening in Bonys! I should also add that I personally love to sneak away from the family for an occasional afternoon pint in Pascalinos, there is also sport to watch when there football on and always someone to meet and chat to.

Anyway, after all these years it’s great to post a message at long last and hopefully will be able to input into the forum for many years. It would be remiss of me not to thank Sparky for policing the forum so well, and if I have done anything wrong with this first post, please be kind with me.
