We are visiting for the first time. In fact first time abroad for years! We are bring two kids 13 and 10. Staying at Villa Concha 1 week in August. Would love any advice, tips, etc. Youngest is v. fussy re food so will probably starve. What do I just HAVE to bring with me? And am I safe in assuming it should just be shorts and t-shirt weather in August! Any advice welcome. Thanks.

First of all you will all have a wonderful time! Yes it will definitely be shorts & T-shirt weather - in fact it's pretty hot already - see the Weather link on the home page of www.puertopollensa.com

Re Food, there are so many different restaurants catering for all tastes that you are bound to find somewhere & plenty do a good 'menu del dia' (Menu of the Day) for 7-10 Euros.

We have just published our new Days Out Page www.puertopollensa.com/excursions.html if you do choose to venture out.

But above all don't worry, Puerto Pollensa is a very relaxed, easy going & 'nice' resort - you'll love it!

We have just returned from our second visit to Puerto Pollensa and our kids are 13 and 8. We found the resort very relaxed and both children really had a great time. Our youngest eats only Macdonalds here in the UK, but on holiday found that she really liked Pizza Margherita!! If you are really stuck there is a Burger King.....for use only in an extreme emergencies. We wandered around the Square at night and the kids became expert pool players either in Tango or in the Spanish bar on the square. I am sure you will all have a great time. Wish we were coming back with you!

We have been coming to puerto pollensa for years, and would not dream of going anywhere else.
The beaches are perfectly safe for children, and there are numerous bars and restaurants to eat.
The bar coral owned by Anna and her brother in law Pedro has a variety of food, or across the road is the Pizzeria owned by Anna's husband George.
At the back of the Ora Playa by Anna's there is a very nice place called Trios where you can get a three course meal including a bottle of wine for two for sixteen pounds.
Enjoy yourselfs
