This was in the Sunday Times yesterday.

" Just over the mountains from Puerto Pollensa, and nestled on the sands of Cala Clara, Hotel Nui is one of those places you don`t tell your friends about.
Built in 1908 and renovated a century later, with 24 rooms, it`s the sort of hotel your children will take their children to , only to find the head waiter is still cracking the same jokes. There are three beaches to choose from in the village- if you tire of Cala Clara, the best alternative is the little known Cala Carbo, a short walk around the headland."

It's a nice hotel, great bay but just about every other hotel there is all inclusive so not much of a typical north mallorca feel. Bar Mallorcas good for tapas and great position on the front.Other than peak season, Cala san vicente is pretty dead
 
Hi Whaleywanderer,

I have never been to Cala Carbo either,and would visit Cala san Vicente once or twice on our visits ,for a walk and to take our son to the crazy golf , but had never heard of it until I read the Times on Sunday and copied out their report .
Perhaps someone who stays in, or knows the Cala area better than I could advise us.

We stayed in the apartments above Cala Carbo last year.

If you go down the steps at the Molins Hotel you will see the beach to your left below the sea wall and bar Mallorca and a carpark to your right. Ahead you will see a "road" inclining up towards the mountains. Continue up it about 200m and this will bring you to a flatish piece of road that widens slightly. Down below is a small rocky bay and this is Cala Carbo.

It is quite rocky and while we were there a rescue boat and jet ski had to rescue a swimmer who injured himself.

Be careful of the scooters and cars.

There is another beach in CSV that is sandy and tiny, it is sort of between the Don Pedro and the Simar with winding steps down. It is a lot quieter than the other beaches when we are there so please don't all come at once! :) Cala Carbo is signposted once you get to Mollins beach, but it really is rocky, not for sun bathing but watching the fishermen with the boats and nets.
Also if you carry on up the road on foot you get a wonderful view over CSV and out to sea.

Also if you contiue up the road, turn left at the roundabout "for the urbanisation that never was", continue over the Siller Pass you come to our beloved PP!!

agree with Gordon, the best way to /from get to CSV is over the Siller pass, faiuling that the local bus journey's really pleasant and good value for 1 euro10
