I have sorely missed my trips to Pollenca and PP.Having enjoyed 30-40 days per year for the last 25 years or so, this summers absence has been difficult to take.
The antidote I have found is in Miles Davis album "Sketches of Spain".We have played this cd both at home in Yorkshire and in Mallorca. The themes take me back to Pollenca, especially track 4, Saeta, which borrows much from traditional spanish folk themes. The town band at "Patrona" week play much of these themes, whils "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Rodrigo needs no introduction to anyone who has sampled modern spanish music.
As you yearn for PP in these dark winter months, light a fire, put yourself a tumbet in the oven, pour a glass of wine and put Miles Davis on the cd player or find him on i tunes.
Lets hope we can all return safely next year. Keep safe and good luck to all in our passionate group of Mallorca lovers.

Great advice! I’ll take the Tumbet & the wine but I’d be listening to my Spanish band of choice Manu Chao, Me Llaman Calle is one of my favourites.

Hi Jaime, not heard of Manu, but I have now! googled himgot the Llaman track of i tunes. Yeah ok,bit of a dance beat going.. roll back the carpets!
