A word of caution.
I recently ordered a box of contact lenses at a cost of 14 euros from my usual supplier. Although the website is .com and showed no indication of where the order would be sent from it transpired that it was posted from Glasgow. When it arrived in Spain I received an email from Coreos asking for a copy of the purchase receipt and my NIE. Now, two weeks later I have received a bill for 54 euros for customs charges, administration, vat etc. Needless to say I will not be paying.

Crown now on pint glasses though... sunny uplands and all that.

I fully intend to start bringing cheap bike parts back to the UK in my luggage. Some european bikes are 20% cheaper there

That's the spirit!! :D

Further to my first post - I instructed Coreos to return the item to sender and I have now arranged for the supplier to undertake the necessary admin and custom procedures and pay the tax - total cost of doing this is 6 euros. Lesson to be learned - do not ask Coreos (ADTpostales) to import things from the UK on your behalf.

On that note, I'm just about to pull apart a 12kg mountain bike and stick it a 5kg cardboard box and pay £45 to stick all 30 kg of it in the hold of a flight out of Luton on the 22nd... if anyone wants anything to accidentally fall into that box... msg me

Beware of the legal/judicial implications.
If you are not paying the customs charges/duties, it is the Spanish Ministry of Finance that will go after you, not "Correos".
And that means it will contact the IRS/HM Revenue & Customs to obtain "forced payment" (plus penalties, fines and interest for late payment)

I used to use Amazon UK before Brexit now that is impossible due to tax and paperwork etc.
But you also need to be aware that some vendors on Amazon Spain actually ship from the UK and this can be a nightmare and if you have to return anything .It is an even bigger headache . My advice if you need anything here in PP Buy Only in Europe forget the UK. Make sure if buying online the item is coming from within Europe Amazon Germany eg
