I have the same question, though with a little bit more notice than OP. looking for a local PAYG micro sim for iPad. Or do people think there is sufficient wifi in the resort not to need one?

I would imagine you would be able to buy a micro sim from the Movistar shop on the main street, near to the small Eroski. However, I bought mine from The Yoigo shop in Alcudia, the guy understands English and he set it up for me. There is also the Vodafone shop in Alcudia where you can get one, the staff there also speak English.

There are a lot of bars/restaurants now offering wifi but if you have an apartment with no wifi, it's very handy to have 3G, provided through your IPad.

Hi, did you manage to get a prepaid micro sim for the iPad ?
Just got an iPad with 3G and was looking to buy a data sim when I come over.
Our apt doesn't have wifi.

An alternative option is to look at wifi rental - 39.90 per week for 1GB data - plus 15% discount via this site - see Internet Cafes, Cybercafes, Wifi, Computers - Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca Majorca An added bonus is that up to 5 devices (phone, ipap, laptop etc.) can share it & you can take the gadget about with you.
