The Mallorca Birding Race is the first event of its type in the Balearics.

This weekend there will be a marathon birdwatching event which covers various parts of Majorca. Teams from home and abroad will be vying to identify as many types of bird possible at spots in the Tramuntana, in the Boquer Valley (Pollensa), the Albufera nature park, on the Arta peninsula, in the south of the island, in Calvia, and at S'Albufereta (Alcudia/Puerto Pollensa) and La Gola in Puerto Pollensa.

The presentation of the event - the "Mallorca Birding Race" - was made today at La Gola. It is the first of its type to be held in the Balearics. Participants need to be in teams of between three and five people and register via the website Mallorca Birding Race 2016.
