If enough people stop and speak to the police then they may take more notice. Report it anywhere where you think there is an official person including the town hall office in the old school building.

That is exactly how to get a reaction, bug the hell out of local officials, irritate them beyond belief then they will act just to get rid of you. It works for me most times.

massage on the beach

Is it just me or has any one else been driven mad on the beach by the words massage massage 10 euro,whats that all about ,every 10 mins the same words from the same four people i had to say no and dont ask me again ,deaf ears ten mins later same again ,orther beach goers on the beach were really peed off when they were asking children the same question .I cant believe pollensa council is letting this happen i did ask one of them to show me a licence but just got a smile and was asked the same question again at that point i walked in to the sea and carried on walking.

Will take a sign with me next year and put it on the sunshade and will make a point of complaining in the appropriaate places while I am there !

Slight subject change when are the beach beds removed for the end of the season ?

They are usually moved by the end of October. I think the beach has to be clear by the 1 st November unless there is an extension given.

Thanks for that Aplace we went to on the Costa Brava used to move them mid September !! Also all the Portaloos which were on the indidividual coves They thought it was winter we didnt !

Police crack down on illegal traders and masseurs , this from the DDM :-

DIARIODEMALLORCA.ES / EFE.PALMA The local police in northern Mallorca raised a total of 37 administrative charges for street trading and illegal activities on the beaches of the area for two days of control.

why do so many people think that chinese waiters are in any way qualified to do massage? is noone interested in hygiene, none of them carry any cleaning materials and they are becoming a real pain on the beach

And none of them contribute financially via taxes to the economy of the island.

Just got back from a week in Sicily and......guess what? They were there as well!

Lying on a beach and constantly being harangued by Oriental masseurs and African watch sellers.

PP is really my favourite place in the world but I felt right at home in Sicily!

It's European disease.

Even a very quiet beach we were on in Rhodes had them !

Only a DVD seller at lunchtime but a couple of Massage people all day They actually only approached you once not as in PP when I felt under complete attack all day and the same people would approach you constantly

PP still my favourite place but we are going to complain next year if we are are hassled all day !

While I don't agree with what they are doing, they are not the only ones.

Just like " many people think that chinese waiters are in any way qualified to do massage? " many people come from the UK and think it's ok to do things that they are not qualified for here, neither do they pay the approriate self employment stamp (which is very high here) or taxes, or vat, this makes it very hard for anyone trying to run a fully "legal" company or small business to be competetive.

I believe a well know Southern Lady once used the term "Naff off" to the Southern British Press?

Seems an easy answer to me, it worked last week when approached by several skinny oriental females and one older oriental guy all of whom now know the Scottish version of "get stuffed".

Don't get vexed, just ignore them.
