Always here June/July but have never known mosquitoes like it!
Fast,Silent and Accurate! No warning'buzz'at all. Be aware.

The last two weeks of June I did not get a single bite. Debs however did have 5 on arms and ankle. Two of them are still there.

Well same thing happened as last year nothing all week, then again on last night 4 bites. Little b*stards:D

Thanks for the warning - I will be prepared when we come out on Thursday!!

Ive just been to India and used a Mosquito repellant called Odamos. It’s fantastic and cheap too, can be bought on Amazon. Loads of large mozzies in India and not one bite! It’s a cream which also contains almond oil and acts as a good aftersun too. I’m ordering some more for my holiday in Pollensa soon.

Tortured by mosquitoes

We have just returned from PP after a two week lovely holiday, only ruined by the amount of mosquitoes. We were eaten alive night and day, we couldn't see or hear them, and no matter what we used or how many candles we lit it was really bad. Was this year worse because we have not suffered other years end always stay in the same area Pinerat. Just wondering thanks.

We found exactly the same thing this year. My wife often gets a bit bitten, whereas I never get any, but this year they got all 3 of us. We did the same thing as you, visited a couple of pharmacies and got varying degrees of repellent and relief cream, but the repellent just didn't seem to work.

The cream was good for calming the bites down afterwards, but 3 days after we returned mine suddenly got really angry and I ended up having to get a course of antibiotics! Only today have they just about gone, a week after we got home!

Of course, it won't stop us visiting in the future (summer 2019 is currently being planned), but your message makes me glad that it wasn't just us - although I'm obviously sorry that you had to suffer as well!

The weather has been odd this summer (again) with rain and humidity so I wonder if that's the cause?

Avoid places with plants stood in saucers of water that attract biting flies for breeding and feeding.

Beach restaurants under trees and with decking seem a problem with a different type of biters.

If all fails, you could regard your bites as souvenirs of your holiday??!!!?

Same for me this holiday, 2 weeks being bitten night and day but mostly day. Another week to go and never been effected like this in over 30 years. Have also tried creams and AUtan, also çandles. Back to norrmal next hear.

It was the worst year for us, it was horrible seeing the grandchildren getting up and being covered in bites, nothing seemed to work. Won't stop us going again next year, just hope there will be no repeat of this summer. It was still a great holiday.

We have been coming to PP for nearly 20 years and at all different times of the year. I have never been bitten so badly despite using plugins in all rooms, nets, sprays and best quality repellents. I am looking forward to going home and I have never, ever said that before.

One of my family has suffered terribly in the past with mosquito bites. Last year she started taking vitamin B12 tablets for an unrelated condition. She has been out here in July and again for most of September and never been bitten.

I don't know if it is just coincidence but the NHS website does say that for some people it can be effective.

This year I purchased the electric zappers like you see in food shops available from the ferreterias ranging from around 30 to 50 euro depending on size have 1 in each bedroom and other areas including outside FANTASTIC . because they attract and kill the little devils NO BITES all summer for everybody who stayed and still the same now. Also no annoying buzzing in your ear when you are sleeping.
I have tried every form of repellent known to man over the years and this
is the only one that works don't repel kill :D:D:D:D
As an added bonus they attract and kill flies and any other flying insects. and never have to buy refills just switch them on and off as required

exactly when you use repellent they just keep moving round until they find a spot and get you. They cant do that when they fry and best bit you can hear them snapping hahahahahah (not a cruel person but Mozzies bring nothing to this world apart from misery so yes pleasure when I here them snap and crackle lol):D:D:

If you have a garden that you sit in, the pesky blighters will find a sheltered corner and wait until night to come out and getcha! I have a mossie spray that at early evening I generously spray plants, hedges and the like, which seems to work too.

The Electric zappers work outdoors also I have them in areas outside need to be kept out the rain. But they are fantastic

Ate out in Pollença this evening and the restaurant was handing out mozzie sprays and citronella candles. We had a swarm of mosquitoes all around us!

Think we came out at the right time then!

Earlier in the month was the least we have ever seen
