Storm Juliette has torn the roof off a petrol station in Cala Rajada, which hit the exterior of some toilets under construction, and has also caused damage to boats in the ports of Soller and Pollensa.
All passenger ports remains closed.

The marina in Pollensa has been hit the worst, some boats have lost awnings and sails while masts been broken.

One boat has lost its cabin and the port infrastructure has also been damaged.

We were there for the weekend and left at 1pm yesterday. The rain had started at around 5pm on Sunday and it rained all night getting heavier all the time. It was completely unrelenting when we drove to the airport but was almost non existent as we approached Palma. We took off in calm conditions.

Looking at the web cam this morning and the storm was still raging in the Port.

The Bulletin are reporting, along with a photo of the damage, that part of the ceiling of the roof of the church in the Port has collapsed as a result of this dreadful weather.

British residents of Spain can now exchange their driving licences for Spanish ones, ending the long-running dispute which has caused plenty of worry and heartache for British residents, according to Spain's EFE news agency.

The deal comes into force this Thursday.

After a nearly a year of waiting, Spanish and British citizens who hold a valid driving licence in either of the two countries will now be able to apply for an exchange in the country where they have established their residence without the need to take an additional practical or theoretical test.

The acting minister for Economic Model, Tourism and Employment, Iago Negueruela, has given an assurance that Ryanair will not charge for taking ensaimadas on board its planes. ...

Ryanair said that one or two ensaimadas can be taken on board at no extra cost even if the cheapest fare is contracted, which allows only a backpack or bag that fits under the seat of the plane to be taken on board.

Should open its door for business next year

The new-look Hotel Formentor is taking shape and it should open its doors for business next summer. The only problem with the rebuilding work is that it doesn´t have a licence, a state of affairs which will change shortly. but there isn't a licence as such for undertaking the rebuilding. Pollensa town hall's deputy mayor Tomeu Cifre says that the licence will be granted "in a few days" .
