I will add some photos each day this week as I take them.

Pictures taken with a Sony RX100 compact camera and NO photoshop tweaks, just resized for web. ( The Sony RX100 is about £390 on amazon at the moment, a lot but it's good)

Arrived Saturday the 9th at lunchtime very tired after the usual pre holiday work chaos and a very early start.

England cold and frosty at 2 degrees on departure and arrived here to 20 degrees but cloudy :)

Staying with a friend and his young son who lives in an apartment one street back from pine walk.

No pictures taken until Saturday night when we went for a walk around the marina.

A nice moon and clear sky with lots of stars visible to the eye but not picked up with camera because of all the lights.
The colour of the street lights effects the white balance so it maybe looks a bit green.

That's it for Saturday the 9th November, more from Sunday soon :)

A few from yesterday, Sunday 10th November 2013.

We decided to go Pollensa town to the Fira.
Parking was an issue as we ended up in the narrow streets, you know the ones like a maze with no way out....
I found a car park I had not seen before and found a space when someone moved.

Pollensa was packed, and I mean packed never seen so many people in Pollensa.
The main road (Cecil Metal I think it is called) was closed with fair rides and stalls.
Most of the town centre area was full of stalls and people, just like Pollensa sunday market but on a much larger scale with much more going on.
A great atmosphere and well worth the trip.
The weather nice and warm at about 20 degrees with sun :)

A few pictures.

My friends son Raymond spotted a fair ride, he was fascinated by all the people and noise.

Here is the larger version zoomed out, he made it up onto the tyre but not sure about going down and over the pallets I think.

A small metal table frame was on the road just where a bike rider would fall on it... only is Spain. ( look bottom right)

I did see a few health and safety issues but who cares it's Spain :)
All that separated the riders from pedestrians is plastic tape.

A you tube video, very noisy as there was music blasting out at full volume in the street, it was great :)
Pollensa Fira November 2013 - Children on Trials bikes in the street at the Fira - YouTube

HD 1080P version is on there if you adjust the youtube settings.
Watch carefully at about 15 to 20 seconds when a pedestrian takes a side step as a bike goes up onto a skip..

More from Sunday night, 10th November 2013.

A walk along pine walk and the Marina early evening, lovely deep blue sky just after the sun set over the mountains.

Sis pins look lovely, an Oasis of light in the distance when walking along the pine walk.
There where people inside and some sat on their balconies and its great to see it open in November, looks so nice as you look inside.

The Camera was set to HDR mode for these last few, does a good job I think.
Who needs photoshop anyway...

Some photos from today, Monday 11th November 2013.

This first one was taken with my mobile phone as I did not have my camera with me as we only went to the supermarket.
My mobile phone is a HTC one X+ ( an old model now - 'HTC one' is the latest)

Lovely clear blue November sky from the Hiper Centro car park.
The moon was up already and it was a warm afternoon at about 20 degrees.

Went for a walk along pine walk just before the sun went down.

Noticed this couple sat on a bench in the distance admiring the view.
Just near Sis pins where a road cuts through to the formentor old road with a clothes shop on the corner.

Walked a little closer for a better almost silhouette photo, ' Alone Together' I called it.

I thought they where enjoying each others company but when I got closer I noticed he was on his ipad and she was fiddling with her phone...

Make the most of your time together .....

Some more from tonight, Monday 11th November.

The way the vapour trail from the aircraft was lit up by the setting sun caught my eye here. The sunset must have looked good from up there.

thanks for sharing your sunny warm looking holiday snaps with us from a quite balmy 9 degs evening in glasgow

your top photo of pascalinos on the front looks very quiet tonight

just my opinion, but a very under estimated establishment

front line, cheap food, reasonable quality, good breakfasts, cheap drinks, great views, always friendly (english not always good though) always open right through winter, nice heaters indoors and out and have a very good japanese/sushi to the formentor rd end in the summer months

Lovely picture of the "Puppy in the Hillside" included

Your photos are just brilliant, Mark - I love seeing PP looking so different - all the familiar streets without the crowds etc. And it is so interesting to see tables still set for outside eating on Pine Walk - in November:) Talk about 'wish I were there!;)

Fantastic photos and videos Mark, thanks for taking the time to post them for us to give us a flavor of the Fira and port out of season :)

Great photos Mark.....definitely makes you feel 'you want to be there'........if only:rolleyes:

Thanks so much for sharing these - They are superb. I have really enjoyed looking at each one.

I love walking along the Pinewalk in the late evening when everybody has headed off to bed. There is something very special about the atmosphere and feel of it, which is really captured in your photos.

The view of the couple seating looking out to sea makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand-up. That same view down to the Pinewalk from the Formentor Road was my first ever view of the sea at PP, and even now, when arriving back in PP, I tend to park by the Oro Playa, just so that I can share "that first glimpse" again.

You have brought many warm memories to this cold day - Thank you.

Gosh what a lovely selection of photos Mark. Really shows PP to be the lovely place it is and very inviting even when out of season. Thank you for sharing. :)

Great photos Mark. Brings back memories of when I lived in the port for 7 months throughout last winter. :)

Pleased that it means something special to you :)

Funny that you should mention the Ora Playa as the apartment I am staying in is directly opposite the Ora Playa and my hire car is parked there on the old formentor road every night.

This mornings (12th the November) first picture at about 09:00 AM, I liked the clear blue sky and white building and it was a welcome site after last nights high winds.
Closed down and whitewashed windows for the winter, very quiet in this part of town.

Turned the corner down the street to the sea and this was the view, I said ' WOW' to myself even though I have see it thousands of times before.
Not expecting such beauty after such a windy night.

Full sun and blue sky with a blustery wind which was pleasantly warm.

I like this glass balcony with the outdoor plastic floor lamps and look at that sky.
