"PRISON LINGO
Sir, ........... “alfresco” in Italy is a euphemism for being in jail . In Pollenca, Majorca, there used to be a large lemon tree outside the old town jail. The equivalent euphemism was that anyone incarcerated was described as “picking lemons”. ............................
