Its certainly one of them.

There are places with better beaches, places which are cheaper there are places without Guardia Civiletc etc but the overall package which is PP takesa bit of beating. I still travel a lot around the world but Pollenca is the only place I want to live

The missus & me normally try & stay on the Pinewalk just before it does the zig-zag turn by the phone booth heading towards Illa D'Or......

You mean "Watermelon corner" - that's what we call it since my friend spotted some er... curvaceous german ladies topless sunbathing there a few years back. :o

Oh my word Lala.....

I thought that sort of behaviour was reserved for our EU friends on the beach at C'an Picafort.....

Been looking for a name for that corner for years......Had thought about calling it the 'Temple Corner', as the house which is the corner so to speak has got a front to it like what would lead up to an old Aztec Temple......But from now on we shall call it the 'Watermelon Corner'.....

Cheers Lala....

Really glad that so many people have responded to my original posting about PP being the best place in the world. I wasn't dismissing those who had genuine criticisms of PP - I've criticised the place myself; over-flowing bins, dog mess etc. But it's like when someone has a dig at your wife or the one you love. (It could be the same person, of course!) You just have to defend them. You can see the faults, but you have to stick-up for them. I didn't say it was perfect, and of course it's changing over the years, but I still love PP.
Anyway, Lovethepinewalk, we also nearly always stay in an apartment
just before it does the zig-zag turn by the phone booth heading towards Illa D'Or. In fact, if you stand at the phonebox, and turn your back to the sea, the building directly facing you is where we stay, the Tomas Apartment. On the top floor. A friend of ours call it Fry's Corner because it is always SO HOT there. But I think I like Watermelon Corner is much better, as Lala calls it. By the way, instead of walking all the way down to the Vora Mar supermarket, if you cut through to the Formentor road, there is a supermarket there, too.
I'll be there in 3 days time. Can't wait.

We call it 'Cat Corner' as there always seems to be lots of cats hanging about early in the morning! We have seen a lady there feeding them at one time, and another time they were watching very carefully as someone was trawling fish in a net - and waiting to pounce! Quite like the Watermelon name though!
