Reliable mechanic/garage needed

Please does anyone know of a reliable, reasonable, competent, English- speaking car mechanic/garage in or around the area? Our car is making a kind of grindy noise and also need to find somewhere reasonable for regular servicing. Any ideas or personal recommendations anyone? TIA
