We happened across this restaurant while strolling through the walled town one afternoon. It looked beautiful, menu was different & prices on a par with many on Pine Walk so we booked for our 2nd Thursday night. SO glad we did!
Apparently it was a cinema, & has mosaic floors, alfresco paintings on walls & ceiling & 2 balconies that encircle the whole indoor restaurant, to look like a Roman theatre. We booked a table in the courtyard at the back, with Roman walls covered in art,wall lights etc. it looks like a room but without a ceiling.
Anyway, onto the food!
Appetisers were tiny pastry cases containing octopus in a jus. Now I would have passed normally but I went for it & it was lovely, tender, tasty & delicious.
Starters:
Goats cheese on a fan of melon with grapes & balsamic vinegar. (E 8.50) FANTASTIC! Artichoke soup,with black pudding, creamy & tasty (9.25) & Salmon tartar with wasabi dressing (9.25). Delicious!
Childrens menu included pork cordon bleu, pasta, chicken, etc. followed by ice cream for 8.50. Big portions!
Mains: Sea Bass with almond crust, veg & pots (18.50)
Duck in moscatel with summer berries (16.25)
Pork 'secret' with spicy sausage & caramalised shallots (16.50)
Monkfish with prawns (18.75)
all served with veg & small dauphinoise pots.
Puddings!!!!: Calvados & apple compote crepe (5.25)
Chocolate fondant with cinnamon (6.50)
We also managed 1 bottle of Muga dry white wine & 1 of Macia Batle, plus water etc. On the house were mallorcan mandarin liqueurs.
There were 4 adults, one 16 y.o & one 5 y.o.
It was not a cheap night, but fantastic quality, & somewhere that we will definitely return to. It was special & the memory will stay for ever with all of us & thats priceless! Highly recommended!
