STOP PRESS - Have just noticed there's a repeat of 'Rick Stein's Spanish Christmas' on tonight at 7pm BBC2:

"Inspired by his journey through Spain, Rick Stein hosts a festive gathering and shares his take on great dishes to cook for Christmas and New Year. This is a Christmas feast with a difference: clams with serrano ham and oloroso sherry, lamb stuffed aubergines with moorish spices, chicken with saffron and pine nuts, and orange caramel creams. Guests include Jose Pizarro and Maria Jose Sevilla, two close friends who, together with Rick, prepare favourite family recipes that form part of their Spanish Christmas celebrations in the UK."

I think that this Jose Pizarro – Slow-roast Shoulder of Lamb is the recipe for the slow-cooked Shoulder of Lamb - incidentally Jose Pizarro has a wonderful tapas bar in London (JOSE | Sherry & Tapas Bar BERMONDSEY)

I spoke to Rick about this set of Xmas Spanish nosh , it is his favourite & is actually what he cooks on Xmas day.
There is another set of programmes based on Mediterranean Islands which will include Majorca's interior, filming starts end of next year.so something to look forward to, he does get around a a bit old Steiny.
