By soundproofing, do you mean double glazing? That always keeps a lot more noise out than single glazing.

secondary glazing
I also have started a search for some secondary glazing suppliers in Puerto Pollensa area, contacted Selectaglaze in UK, but unfortunately they don't have a supplier in Majorca which is dissapointing as I know they are the best. So Nickpaulanoah I would be very interested to hear how your search goes and to hear if you find someone good for secondary glazing. Thanks Dan

It is the vacuum between the two glass layers in double glazed units that attenuates the noise. Fitting a additional glass panel won't be as effective. If noise reduction is the main aim, then perhaps looking at cracks and gaps is more effective. A lot of noise permeates through even the smallest gap.

I was advised that for me it was more likely that the noise was coming through the metal box that houses the metal shutters that I have.
I had someone from the forum here who came out and advised me that but never got back to me with costings etc.
The noise from the bar is a lot less now so I haven't really bothered chasing it.
Good advice to fill any cracks/gaps I must admit. I would have thought as you say though that good secondary glazing would be a good way forward.
