State of the Beaches in PP

Haven't been to that one, but my all time favourite is Cala Marsal which is just south of Porto Colom on the east coast. It is a lovely wide inlet like CSV but much bigger with enough space for everyone. It is safe bathing with clear water and good snorkelling. It is overlooked by a scattering of restaurants and only has one hotel nearby. It is an hour and a quarter from PP but worth the drive. If anyone does go, there is a church on top of a mountain on route. This is San Sabastian and worth the trek. You can see from Palma to Porto Cristo from there.

Sounds great, dont know if I cud bring myself to drive all that way on a Sunday tho! :S

Mite give it a try, think im of to CSV this weekend... snorklin

A Yorkshire promise.

Well I have been reccommended to come to PP but after reading this Thread I am unsure  We want to go to a nice resort with Fantastic Beaches and Sea.. If this is not the case I need to choose somewhere else on the Island? This is my first visit to Majorca....

I have been to PP 3 times now and can never bare to leave the place.I have 4 kids 17,14,12,2 and all I can tell you is this, I have been to beaches all over the world, literally, and the beaches in puerto de pollensa are among the best in the med if not THE best, please don`t let opinions of a place put you off get yourself to pollensa and make your own mind up I promise you will not be dissapointed!
I `m coming out to puerto pollensa on the 1st of september, can`t wait , if anyone fancy`s a few beers and a good laugh you will find me proping up the bar in the flora apartments, you never know I might even buy you one! I`m the big guy with short hair and curly teeth..lol see you all there!

Hi folks, For what it's worth here's my thoughts on the beach scenario. I always use the beach up towards the beach bar. I was there at the end of september (last 2 weeks) and i'm puzzled by the dirty beach comments. The reason being , it became a regular game every morning dodging the b----y great tractor that came along doing it's regular cleaning. Plus you do not get blue flag awards for dirty beaches. Now if the original poster had been talking about the side roads------- Ooops here i go again, okay i'll shut up.

Beaches

Ello, were new to this!
weve been to a lot of the beaches in PP and the best weve found is the beach in town, wide and clean, not to crowded.
And we often go to Muro and
alcudia, and many others on the island and they are all lovely and clean with clean sand and sea.
As i understand it the natural beaches often go through phases of 'dirtiness' as natural things break down,(and smell!) where as the fake beach,es, manmade are often kept clean and lovely.
Maybe you should only go to the nicer ones if these others annoy you so much. I understand its nice to find a more secluded place but there more likely to be natural.
One very stinky beach is the one on the road out of pp where the windsurfers are. we ventured out to look and see the birds more than anything but couldnt tolerate the smell so returned to our car. YUCKY!
PP is still heaven on earth to me!
P.S cant get the webcams to work!
