An unpeated Malt, slightly sweet and vanilla (even custardy) notes and a hint of mint.

I was rushing past the whisky shelves in Morrisons the other day and I think I saw this on offer at £14.99 or£1 more.

Well worth a try at that price!

And my critique Jane just perfection!

Hello Portofan!

This is really wierd but my father has a barrel of Tobermory which he bought 10 years ago. Unfortunately it was part of a scam going on at the time and cost him about £900.

The idea was that he would be able to recoup his money (plus more) after the whisky had matured.

He still has the whisky but what to do with a barrel? He would probably be able to drink the entire contents in a couple of months (!) but there is duty to pay on it, plus bottling etc, etc. He is unlikely to make an investment on it and although I love a drop of good whisky, the amount of bottles to drink is phenonmenal!!

We had a sample last year and it was lovely, so very soon he has to make a decision what to do with it. One option is for the distillery to buy it back or he could release the whisky bit by bit and pay the duty that way.

Beware if you come across any other scams like this!! Some unlucky people lost the lot!!

Best just to buy the odd bottle now and then and not a barrel!!

Regards
Jane:D
