An email sent out today by Aena states
If you're traveling to the United Kingdom from Spain -
From April 2, 2025 , any citizen traveling to the United Kingdom without being a resident there will be required to have an Electronic Travel Authorization .
That doesn't sound right so I thought - what does it say on Gov.uk
Well Gov.uk has a very helpful (not) page entitled - Check if you need a UK Visa.
Page 1 - What’s your nationality as shown on your passport or travel document?
There is then a box to select from. Scroll down to the B's and you are offered a choise of -
British Virgin Islands
British Dependant Territories Citizen
British national Overseas
British Overseas Citizen
British Protected Person
Well I'm a resident of Spain and my UK passport says British Citizen which is not on the list.
I'm presuming it is the Spanish Aena website that has got it wrong and anyone with a passport that says British Citizen does not need a visa.
Or does anyone out there know different.
