Hi there,

We were on the island last week and my partner popped the question.

So we are now thinking of getting married in the port or the surrounding area so far we are thinking:

Hotel Son Saint Jordi

Hotel Miramar

Hotel Llenaire

We are only bringing immediate family so approx 15 guests and we would like a small ceremony followed by a low key relaxed meal of either tapas or a bbq.

I would be grateful for any info that anyone would have on how easy this could be arranged.

We are thinking early September 2015.

Thanks so much

Rachel :)

Hi Sparky thank you so much ..

Yes I have discovered that but I think we will just go to a registry office here and treat the blessing in pp as our actually wedding..

I will have a read through these threads thanks again :)

Rachel

Congratulations on your engagement. If you want some help, feel free to send me a private message. My wife have done the PP wedding and had our reception at the Hotel Miramar, so I have contacts etc. Ours was also a September wedding.

Will be happy to help make your day as special as ours if I can, please feel free to ask.

Kev

Hi Rachel, congratulations. PP Kev is your man, i am getting married next month in the Miramar and he gave me some great advice as did the rest of the members on here, everyone is always kind and happy to help so I'm sure you will find all the info you need here

Hi guys, thank you soo much for your replies. I must admit the miramar is my partners favourite at the moment I did email them yesterday just waiting on their reply. I found a wedding planner in pp on Facebook but as it's only going to be a small affair i would like to do a lot of the organising with my partner. I would be grateful for any advice or tips you can send my way. Did you both feel it necessary to go over to pp to chat to suppliers or venue or is this easy enough by email?

Thanks again and congrats to you both.

Regards

Rachel

Hi Rachel

I have sent you a private message.I don't think there is any need for an organiser, especially if you know some locals!! But a visit beforehand would be beneficial (it is better talking people face to face), plus another excuse to pay PP a visit!

Kev

Rachel I organised everything from Belfast, obviously with help from members on here, but from flowers to hair appointments, menus, entertainment, u name it, Francisca at the Miramar is a great help tho, she can arrange almost anything for you, hope you hear back from them soon, don't worry if it's a few days they will always come back to you.

All the best

Hi Rachel im getting married in PP in 15 days woop! sent you a private message, happy to help x

Hi Rachel, I'm getting married in September in PP :) We're also getting legally married over here but treating our blessing in Sept as our 'real' wedding. Are you planning on getting married in the same place as your reception venue? We've hired a villa just outside PP with beautiful views of the Puig de Maria and we're having the ceremony in the garden followed by the reception with about 25 guests, we're using rent-a-chef for our catering and they have been brilliant and it's been relatively easy organising everything from the UK from guitarist to flowers to hair, something to think about if you decide not to have your reception/ceremony in a restaurant/hotel x

Hi all im back asking for more help if possible . . . We seem to be struggling to get what we are after and have been quoted prices that seem extra ordinarily high. . . The two hotels we were interested in both referred us to wedding planners who I would assume carry a fee but if I am really honest this isn't something we generally need as we want to keep things extremely simple.. We don't need photographers as we will have one with us and are going to arrange the cake and flowers ourselves .. There will only be approx 15 of us give or take one or two .. I would like the service and evening reception in the one place .. and for the reception we were thinking something again informal even a small restaurant or hotel .. I would really appreciate any tips or advice anyone can share .. thanks so much :):) xx

Hotel Llenaire is in a beautiful setting, even has a tiny chapel just off the courtyard but, only has twelve rooms. Good luck with whichever one you choose.
