Not sure where the best place to post this so I have decided to post it here. If I have posted it in the wrong place please move to the right place

Got back from a wonderful holiday on PP on Monday so I thought I'd post my experiences here. It was just me and my 9 year old son so we had a great father and son holiday. This was my 3rd visit to PP but my 1st since 2006. And I was a bit concerned reading on here about how PP had gone downhill with dog mess, scruffy pine walk, dead palm trees, bad beaches, protests and no sun loungers being reported on here. But I have to say I saw no evidence of any of those things - PP was just as lovely as it was in 2005 and 2006 when I last visited.

The only two things that had changed was the value of the £ vs the € so things seemed more expensive and it seemed very quiet for half-term week. I guess the volcano and the € have put some people off but it didn't put me off at all.

We stayed at the Villa Concha aparthotel which was a great place to stay, especially as it was just the 2 of us. The previous two times I visited PP I was still married and had parents-in-law in tow so it made sense to book a private 3 bed apartment on here. But as it was just me and him Villa Concha was perfect. I will post a full review of the VC in the accommodation section in a minute.

The change in the exchange rate did have an effect on us however, we only ate out 4 times during our week there and ate in our apartment the rest of the time. The meals we had were lovely but I couldn't afford to eat out more than that. I guess most people are the same hence the lack of crowds on the Pine Walk at 8PM the nights we were on the PW.

As you can guess from my user name I am a keen photographer and took quite a few while I was in PP. Thought I would share a few with you (hope this is OK mods? I have posted them in the flickr group as well)

Hi SB,

What a lovely post and beautiful pictures.....and the most gorgeous little son. :)

So glad you enjoyed it, I too saw no evidence of the negative reports when I was there last month and like you, thought it was as beautiful as ever!
Eating out four times in a week was actually quite good :)

Look forward to viewing your pictures on flickr.....BTW great photographer!

Fantastic Simon, glad you had a good time & its reassuring to know that PP is just as nice as ever.

Hi Simon, we were out last month and I echo your thoughts completely regarding the worries of possible changes. We hadn't been out since '07 and are happy to report we found the place to be just as lovely as we remember.

Your photos are stunning by the way! :)

So glad you still love PP ............... I keep on telling people not to worry ( whilst also understanding the need to not be complacent )

Fantastic photos

Great post, great photos too. Thanks for posting

Hi Simon
We got back from PP two weeks ago and like you, were very happy to find that it hadn't changed at all. We had a fab time and are looking forward to going back as soon as possible. Really love your photos, especially 'sunrise in PP'.

Good of you to post the positive! Great colours in those photos - obviously wasn't a run of the mill digital!

I think these are just the best photos I have seen of PP! You really capture the feel of a holiday in this beautiful place as well as the beauty of the actual surroundings. Great to hear you had such a good time.

Simon I echo all that everyone has said about your photos....FANTASTIC!

The ones of my beloved Formentor are especially good, my favourite time of the day as the sunsets...cant wait to be doing the same as your son next ;)

Looks like you had a great boys holiday :)
