Not sure where the best place to post this so I have decided to post it here. If I have posted it in the wrong place please move to the right place
Got back from a wonderful holiday on PP on Monday so I thought I'd post my experiences here. It was just me and my 9 year old son so we had a great father and son holiday. This was my 3rd visit to PP but my 1st since 2006. And I was a bit concerned reading on here about how PP had gone downhill with dog mess, scruffy pine walk, dead palm trees, bad beaches, protests and no sun loungers being reported on here. But I have to say I saw no evidence of any of those things - PP was just as lovely as it was in 2005 and 2006 when I last visited.
The only two things that had changed was the value of the £ vs the € so things seemed more expensive and it seemed very quiet for half-term week. I guess the volcano and the € have put some people off but it didn't put me off at all.
We stayed at the Villa Concha aparthotel which was a great place to stay, especially as it was just the 2 of us. The previous two times I visited PP I was still married and had parents-in-law in tow so it made sense to book a private 3 bed apartment on here. But as it was just me and him Villa Concha was perfect. I will post a full review of the VC in the accommodation section in a minute.
The change in the exchange rate did have an effect on us however, we only ate out 4 times during our week there and ate in our apartment the rest of the time. The meals we had were lovely but I couldn't afford to eat out more than that. I guess most people are the same hence the lack of crowds on the Pine Walk at 8PM the nights we were on the PW.
As you can guess from my user name I am a keen photographer and took quite a few while I was in PP. Thought I would share a few with you (hope this is OK mods? I have posted them in the flickr group as well)
