WINE CLUB MEETING - THURSDAY 3 NOVEMBER AT 8.30pm

OK, I know most members crack open a bottle earlier, but with early evening commitments etc, I thought 8.30pm would be a good time to have the first WINE CLUB MEETING!!!!

If anyone is interested - and I hope they are or I will be very lonely sat in the chatroom on my own - please come along on the night and join in the fun!

The red wine I have chosen is the CAMPO VIEJO RESERVA from Tesco, currently on offer at £5.99 (reduced from £7.99) which is a great opportunity to try this wine.

The white wine will be the ERRAZURIZ CHARDONNAY from Chile reduced from £5.99 to £4.49.

If you would like to try both, please feel free and if you have any trouble finding either of these, please let me know.

Any comments gratefully received and I look forward to seeing some of you on Thursday night!

I have other committments on a Thursday ......... so won;t be able to join you until 10pm, but hopefully things will be quite lively in the room by then ......... will certainly go to tescos and get the wines and join you later on in the evening if I may

sorry , i wont be able to join 'til about 11 pm (working 'til 10)
but i will certainly buy a bottle of the red (saw it last week in tescos at £7.99:eek , but since its been reduced, i might give it a try, not that i,m tight or anything:lol )

Just a wee reminder that tomorrow is the first Wine Club Meeting!

I hope everyone has been able to get hold of the two wines without any difficulty.

Just a tip - let the Rioja breathe a little before drinking - half an hour should be fine and don't over-chill the Chardonnay.

If anyone would like to join us but hasn't bought the wines, please feel free - the more the merrier. That goes for those poor souls who have to work later as well!

Went to Tesco's in Mk today and they had sold out of the Rioja!! Wasn't you was it emptying the shelves??!!

Will try again tomorrow and fingers crossed they will have had a new delivery.

Well I've got my Errazuriz Chardonnay.


One Tesco yesterday was out of stock but got it in another today.

And I see the Campo Vieja in stock in both stores!

Thurs at 8.30 it is!

Hi Porto, Snowy, Debs and cd!

Had to go to the Market Harborough branch of Tesco's (Express) today for essential supplies of coffee and milk and had a quick look through the wine aisles.

Was amazed to see the Campo Viejo sold out!

Any members live nearby?!!!!!:eek

Gosh, I hope the chatroom can cope with the numbers tomorrow night!

Popped into a small Tescos in Tring for a cucumber of all things :\ on our way home this afternoon. Thought I'd look to see if they had THE wine..yet again empty shelf! Asked an assistant who was re filling shelves and he had two cases on his trolley..I bought them both on your recommendation ,although we have had the non reserve before. Well we opened a bottle and settled down to watch Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor (we know how to push the boat out on a Saturday night!!) Mmm I could tell from the first luscious smell it was going to be good and I wasn't disappointed..one bottle wasn't really enough!! Good choice..think I might suggest to Chels to open another

I popped into the wine club the other night just before I left for nightshift, what a great idea jane.
Well we managed to get our hand on a few bottles (not as many as Debz :lol ) and have been enjoying the fruits of my labours all weekend. What a beautiful wine.

Jane, what on earth has happened to the club?. Since Spring is just around the corner and our thoughts are turning to this years holidays can we please have a tasting night with some nice Spanish wines? And not all too expensive please. I for one love a nice Rioja.
I hope we can have a tasting very soon.
