"Winter in Mallorca"

Bit of a toss up last night. Do I stay in and watch Liverpool implode in Europe or attend the first " Mallorca in Winter" concert sponsored by the Balearic Govt in the church here in PP ?

Decided on the latter and glad I did. Just over an hour of the most delightful chamber music , played by three exceptional musicians ( Two violins and a cello ) who called themselves "Trio Armonia" .

Perfect programme : Haydn, Vivaldi , Borodin ( which was particularly lively and amusing ) and completed with Dvorak's Terzetto op 74.

Fabulous stuff but oh, so pitifully attended. Could only have been about fifty of us there ( probably six Brit & German ex pats , the rest locals ) .

Reason for posting is that there are a whole series of concerts sponsored by the Govt over the island lasting til next April so if you find yourself here with the opportunity , well worth taking it .

Didn't miss much with the Pool either !!!!

Winter In Mallorca

Some of the events in Mallorca during the winter are really great....here's another one!

NOMADS (The North of Mallorca Amateur Dramatic Society) are presenting "Merry Christmas Mrs Scrooge!" (from "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens) on Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December at the Casa de Cultura in Alcudia at 8.00p.m.
Admission is by programme (5€). The programmes will be available from Multi-Hire in Puerto Pollensa and from Little Britain in Alcudia from Monday 16th November.

The cast is made up of English-speaking people from the Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia areas. They get a lot of support from people living out here, and if you are on the island when they are performing, I know they would be grateful for your support.
