I guess the new seats will create further discussion , some will like them and some will not, what shouldn't be lost in the debate, however, is the appalling quality of the finished pavements on which they sit. The cracks have now been filled with something and then sealed bringing out the cracks even more. In addition the seals have failed and the cracks are getting worse. On top of this the material appears to retain everything that is spilled on it so the whole surface looks a complete mess and we haven't got into the season properly yet ! If they don't determine to dig it all up in the winter and start again, as I think they should, then at the very least there should be a cleaning regime put in place through the night as there is with the beach. I've attached a set of pictures on Flickr that show the new seats but also the deteriorating state of the pedestrianisation itself.
