Europa Energy - renewable solar energy in Spain

Hi Folks
I read in TOTN recently about Europa Energy, a new electricity supplier that owns a bunch of solar farms in Northern Spain, and can now supply the islands.
It's pretty easy to find out if they are a cheaper alternative to Endesa, based on your circumstances. You will need an existing electricity bill (to find your CUPS number), then head over to https://www.europa-energy.com/ and enter a few details for an instant quote.
I'd be interested to hear how you get on....

Hi. I noticed this advertisement in the TOTN too. I have just gone online to register my CUPS number but unfortunately it is not recognising it - and I have tried various options, regarding the zeros and letter O's. User error I am sure!

I have therefore contacted the company via email with my details and look forward to receiving a response. A 20% discount would be fantastic but don't want to build my hopes up. Mind you receiving a monthly bill that I understand and only paying for what I use - that in itself is a selling point!

I will update this post should I receive good news. Thanks for the post, it kick started me into action!

I found that I had to remove the last two characters of my CUPS number, then it worked OK....only the first 20 characters are needed. Hope that helps
...
 
I've just entered my CUPS Number. Certainly seems cheaper on the face of it. Anyone had any further experience?
 
Hi. I received a very prompt friendly response to my email yesterday. Based on my past 12 months consumption with Endesa it appears I would make a saving of €30 per year. The email did say that the quotation is based on a basic home rate and if I joined them then it would be possible to change to a day/night tariff which could possibly save me a little more. Husband pointed out that a day/night would perhaps only be beneficial to permanent residents.

In the end, and based on my actual energy use over the previous twelve months, it turns out that Endesa were no more expensive than Europa.....

20% savings advertised by Europa not there in my case. I hope you have more luck :)
