Thanks to the webcam I can see how the work along the front is progressing but is there any update to the bus stop (station) worth reporting?

Yes they are doing really well and i don't think it will be much longer before it's finished ;).

I have just received a message from the ajuntament to say the new bus stops/station will open on Friday 1st June ;).

https://majorcadailybulletin.com/ne...ps-puerto-pollensa-operational-this-week.html

From Friday 1 June, the new bus stops in Puerto Pollensa will be operational. The stops on the calle Roger de Flor behind and by the church will be no more, which will come as immense relief to residents who have been complaining about the noise and fumes from buses ever since the stops were installed.

..
Finally, the go ahead was given for the new bus stops to be created on a car park along the bypass. All the bus routes will use these stops.

As yet, there is no word as to when the planned shuttle bus to Formentor might start. Ideally, it would come into operation pretty much immediately, but it is possible that it will have to wait until the new bus service concessions come into effect from the beginning of next year.

I wonder what is being testing with just two days to go? I hope that bendy bus didn't come as a surprise to anyone!

Where exactly are the new bus stops 'on a car park' by the by-pass to be?
By the roundabout up Calle Tramuntara,
behind the Council Offices and Medical centre,
opposite the offices of MiC Communitats and Colonya Bank!!

Hope that helps

Thank you for your replies El Gordo and Mike Dublin.
I know where the new bus station is but what I really meant was where are the other bus stops situated en route to either Pollensa, Alcudia and Cala st Vicente, which may be nearer to where we are.

We came back on the bus from Alcudia today and a couple of thoughts came to mind regarding the new bus station. Any newcomers to PP will miss out on the great views of the bay and the anticipation of what they will find in the port and then instantly fall in love with it as we all have. Also they will have to walk through dirty neglected streets with broken tiles, weeds in the gutters, dog mess and dog wee stains up the walls. It must now be time to throw some money and effort at behind the scenes.

I understood that a new car park, possibly temporary, was being created on the north side of the seaplane roundabout.

Totally agree with MoMike. Not that the town council should pander to tourists but we still today drive as far as we now can along the seafront, before the one way system kicks in, on our first arrival into PP. Just like it was the first time, to enjoy the beauty and wonder of the bay (even though it's quicker on the bypass!!). A trick missed on the sales front we think!!

Tib Maps (Tib.org) show Busses use the bypass. Your nearest stop is at the roundabout junction of the Bypass and Calle Cadernera.
See Here :D

Do I take it that the car park opposite the tennis courts and across the road from La Boguita is now going to be extremely busy as a result of the bus station taking over the other one? Is there an alternative car park at this side of town?

It was already very busy, you'll be lucky to find parking inside of the bypass near the port.
I understand that they have now removed parking charges (ORA) as parking is limited by the new layout on the front.
