I wonder why these figures are different to the ones being given by the health service in Pollenca, which gave 27 cases on Friday.

I wonder why these figures are different to the ones being given by the health service in Pollenca, which gave 27 cases on Friday.
According to figures from the health ministry which were updated on Sunday, the number of active coronavirus cases has increased in nine of Majorca's 53 municipalities, has decreased in 22 and has remained the same in the other 22.
...
For all municipalities (in descending order of the number of cases), the figures are: Palma (989); Calvia (88); Llucmajor (86); Marratxi (57); Manacor (53); Inca (37); Sa Pobla (29); Capdepera (28); Alcudia (16); Binissalem (15); Soller (14); Felanitx (13); Arta and Campos (both eleven); Pollensa (nine); Esporles, Muro and Son Servera (each with eight); Sant Joan and Santa Maria (both with seven); Andratx, Campanet, Santa Margalida, Santanyi (each with six); Alaro, Bunyola, Sencelles, Sineu, Valldemossa and Vllafranca (each with five); Llubi with four; Algaida and Maria de la Salut (both with three); Montuiri, Porreres, Sant Llorenç and Selva (each with two); and on one, Ariany, Consell, Costitx and Puigpunyent.
There are a couple of questions regarding these figures. One has to do with Sant Joan, where the reported number of active cases is seven, yet where there was a major outbreak at the care home (83 in all). However, it would appear that the health ministry treats active cases among residents of care homes and health/social health care workers separately.
Another question concerns Pollensa, where the health centre on Tuesday reported 29 active cases. The figure in the list from the ministry is nine. There was a similar discrepancy last week.
According to figures from the health ministry which were updated on Sunday, the number of active (positive) coronavirus cases has increased in 23 of Majorca's 53 municipalities, has decreased in 14 and has remained the same in the other 16.
...
For all municipalities (in descending order of the number of cases), the figures are: Palma (1,361, up 189 from last week); Llucmajor (104, up 13); Marratxi (91, up 25); Calvia (88, up 18); Soller (63, up 42); Manacor (55, up six); Sa Pobla (46, up ten); Inca (42, down eight); Capdepera (34, down five); Montuiri (28, no change); Alcudia (26, up three); Muro (23, up five); Felanitx (20, up four); Pollensa (20, up eight).
...
In Majorca, the ministry's figure for active cases is 2,217; 8,288 people have recovered, and there have been 257 deaths.
...
These are figures based on 12,850 confirmed cases in the Balearics since the start of the pandemic.
The health ministry has updated figures for active positive cases per municipality. There has been a rise in sixteen municipalities, a decrease in 20 and no change in the other 17 municipalities (which include nine where there are no cases).
The overall picture is more positive than last week, when there were increases in 23 municipalities and decreases in 14.

The Círculo de Economia de Mallorca has created colour-coded traffic light indicators of the daily situation with the pandemic in the Balearics.
"Share the state of the pandemic in the Balearic Islands" is the message from the Círculo, an entity closed linked to the Chamber of Commerce. There are red, yellow and green risks according to the number of new accumulated cases over a seven-day period, the reproductive rate, the positive test rate, the occupancy of intensive care units and the availability of health resources.
...
As well as the daily update, the information on the Círculo's website provides an estimate of the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants for the next seven and fourteen days. This estimate is based on a predictive mathematical model.

Thanks Mike. At 14 is that an increase or decrease (decrease I think)? Is there any area of Pollensa and PP where the disease is most prevalent? Schools/nursing homes etc?

Coronavirus infections have gone down in the Balearic Islands, but just when we thought we might see an end to the restrictions, the President of the Government, Francina Armengol has announced that social gatherings between family or friends are now limited to a maximum of 6 people.
...
Throughout her speech, President Armengol claimed that restrictive action, amongst other things, “has led to a significant improvement in health figures in the last two months,” and that from August 29 to date the accumulated incidence in 14 days has gone from 521 to 140 in the Balearic Islands.”
She stated that although the Balearic Islands have managed to lower the curve, the incidence has "stagnated" at a higher level than in the first wave of the pandemic.
"A rebound in a third wave cannot catch us with such high levels of affectation", she said. ...
Goals
“Our objective is to reach the low risk zone; to decrease the 140 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days that we have now to less than 50; to reduce the 69.5 cases in seven days to less than 25; to keep the positivity rate below 5%; to have less than 5% of hospital beds occupied by Covid-19 patients and to reduce ICU occupation from 14% to under 10%. That’s our goal,” she said “and we cannot stand idly by.”
The Balearic health ministry has announced new restrictions for Mallorca. Social and family gatherings are to be reduced from ten to six people, unless people are living together. For celebrations, capacities are to be cut to 25 indoors and 50 outdoors. Activity in places of worships is to be reduced to 30%, and it is recommended that people should not sing.
Sitting by bars in hospitality establishments is to be banned, and the maximum number of people per table will be six. In shopping centres, capacity is to be cut to 50%. The sale of alcohol after 10pm is prohibited. In sports establishments, the maximum capacity will be reduced to 30%, and group activities cannot exceed fifteen people.
The measures will come into effect on Saturday, which is when they will be published on the Official Bulletin. An exception is for weddings. The new capacities will not apply until November 1.
...
Although the measures will initially apply for fifteen days, they are likely to remain in place for a few months and coincide with the time of year when people are more likely to be indoors.
...
Updated figures from the Balearic health ministry indicate that the numbers of active cases of coronavirus have risen in thirty of Mallorca's 53 municipalities. There have been decreases in fourteen and no changes in nine.
...
There are three municipalities where the increases have been quite marked. In Pollensa, there has been an increase of over 80% from 37 on November 5 to 68. The health ministry is investigating the origins, not having drawn any conclusions as yet.
