On the beach 2021.

A protest is taking place now, many cars driving around the Port and making a lot of noise, i hope the media are covering it.

I've not seen any mention of it in the Mallorca Times.

The poster for the protest says that the Costas Authority has turned down Pollensa town hall's request to maintain the playgrounds, the wooden ramps for wheelchair users and the Llenaire picnic area as well as the request for a public toilet in this area.

Yes indeed Clinkham, I also dislike the new parasol arrangements where visitors cannot see the sea or the beach because they are so numerous. In fact, I think that was the reason Pips changed her chosen holiday resort a couple of years back.

They are awful. We call them Boris brollies!!.

Great news. Can I suggest that in order to cater for those who do not like being in the vicinity of children enjoying themselves that we petition the council to set up a separate area for them to use. I am trying to think of a suitable site, suggestions please!!

I believe it is an absolute disgrace that people even bring children to PP they are unruly, noisy and generally annoying as all they seem to what to do is just enjoy themselves. Please don't let my grandson see this as his dad might not take my wife and I with then to PP. haha!

I agree that it is the people that bring the children are unruly etc. it is a good thing that the children are there to keep them occupied.

The authority had never definitively stated that the installations had to go

It has been generally reported that the Costas “rectified” their decision. This isn’t the case. The authority had never definitively stated that the installations had to go. It was waiting for a regional environment ministry report before making a decision.

As it is, one suspects that quiet words were had in ears because of all the fuss that has been generated and that the matter has been dropped. The town hall now says that specifications for the playgrounds’ concession this year are being drafted.

Watching the Webcam for a while now (OK, i'll be honest then, everyday), and am wondering does anyone (Sparky) know when the brollies and sunbeds will start to be deployed.

Also good to see the restaurant to right of webcam with customers in it.
