Maybe this thread should be closed before it becomes like many others ! Either you like the place or you dont peoples opinons will clash all the time. The guy is basically a good guy and if he s not too well at the moment maybe we should agree to differ and just wish him all the best no matter what we think of the bar, I personally dont like it and do think it lets down the square as do other places. I really wish him well and hope his health improves.

SWS would the "dont go there" argument still apply if we were discussing a strip bar or sex shop?

It seems that although Bonys has been done to death on this forum that is the only argument that is put forward by the pro Bony bunch. I have only ever been in Bonys once but I still have to walk by it and cringe at the flourescent tacky signs put up there. I still am entitled to an opinion as to whether Bonys enhances or otherwise the square in PP.

IMO Bonys bar is contributing to the declining standards in the square. Beside Bonys we now have a Chinese restaurant (The Plaza) where one of the staff approaches you asking if you have eaten etc. etc. and now Balnco y Negro is advertising strip nights (male and female) throughout the port. If people dont think that the standards in the square and perhaps indirectly the rest of the port have slipped and that this may in turn affect the value of any property investment then IMO they are digging their heads in the sand.

Well said. I have had to close threads on Bony's several times. This one has run its course. As I've tried to say many times, if you enjoy visiting Puerto Pollensa and would like to carry on visiting in years to come, please promote aspects elsewhere so that other tourists will visit and spend their money. At the moment this is what is needed to keep it going.
