Bonyladette and I, totally gutted by the break up of Chas & Dave, turned to the solace of some comfort eating ( which to me means I just gotta have chips !!!). So around we pop to Nico's for some grub.

Hamburger with cheeses para mi and Chicken Fajitas for her all washed down with a good bottle of red house wine. Total bill around 30 Euros . Interesting cos we had exactly the same about six weeks ago at the Hard Rock Cafe in town and it was a tad under fifty quid. ( I know you pay a premium to look at Mick's " Jumping Jack Flash suit and Elton's syrups nailed to the wall but puhleeeze !!!!),

Differences don't stop there cos the food at Nico's was so superior it was like from a different planet. (Wish I'd eaten the Rocket Man's toupee instead of the HRC special burger !!!! )

Basic, good quality food, cooked well. They do a MDD before 8.30 p.m. for 13.95 euros, including a drink, which must be one of the best deals in town.
Nico's has been around this town for a very longtime, well before the Tex Mex Empire, and I hope long after the trend has moved on.

Marco and his team are really friendly and helpful. They even speak better english than the cutesy American babes in the HRC !!!!

Quite basic inside but adorned with photos and memorabilia of 1950's US of A.
Background music a bit incongruous though cos Dire Straights ( Remember them ???) I thought was early 80's !!!!

Anyway, in summary, a very pleasant experience.

And Chas & Dave ???

Gorn but not forgotten !!!!!

I agree, I think Nico's is a guilty pleasure of the first order. If you fancy that sort of thing (as we often do) there's no better:)

Bonyslad your at it again and welcome return to your literary words of PP what would we do without out them. :D

Still waiting on dare I say it "Nostaligia" report, "Your day will come" q for a song.

See you soon.;)

We were in Nico's on Tuesday night watching the pouring rain. We shared a nachos starter, OH had a fab steak and I had tacos which were so so. The staff were lovely making sure brollies were in the bucket and coats were dripping out of the way. The waiter brought us an apple schnapps before we left 'to keep the rain out' whilst we ran through the rain back to the apartment. Nicos was full whilst quite a few other places were empty so they must be doing something right :) I think we spent 50 ish euros which was about average this last week for starter, main course and a couple of drinks.
I don't know who Chas and Dave are...

( Note for Pollensa). The cutlery and the lavabos were immaculate at Nicos and as Joelise says so much help with the brollies .

Nostalgia ???, us old rockers don't do Nostalgia, too spaced out , man !!!!

Talking of which, ESRA ran special coach parties three weeks ago to see those old goats " Status Quo" strutting their stuff in Palma.

Man, the sex and drugs were amazing !!!!!

( That's another organisation I'm gonna get banned from !!!! ).

Hasta Lluego, mi amigo
