Ryanair - £1 to spend a penny!

It has been reported in the Daily Mail today that Ryanair are infact going to install coin operated loos on their flights and it will cost £1 to access.

There has been talk of this for a long time but it seems according to the Mail, that they are going ahead with this plan.

How silly of an airline to charge £1 to use the loos and expect someone to buy water at £3 a small bottle! Bit shortsighted really - if they are going to charge for the loos maybe the water should be free!!

I suppose all that can be said re Ryanair is that you know what you get and that is very little for nothing!

Most July/August holidays last for 2 weeks, how can you travel "light"? Really wish they would stop insulting our intellegence! I for one woud not fancy 2 weeks in PP with only hand luggage. Just another "revenue raiser"
 
Ryanair just don't care.
They seem to think we are all stupid and have a good laugh at us anyway!
I think they will be very strict on weighing luggage too as that is a big revenue producer with over weight bags.

We are not stupid as we know the game and choose to play it. They haven't thought through the extra time they may be on the ground due to people not able to get off the plane so quickly with crossed legs! lol
 
Absolutely right Smiddy, how can people be expected to go away on a 2 week holiday with hand luggage only! I can't manage it for a long weekend :rolleyes:

Haven't and never would fly Ryanair. Easyjet rocks :)

Never used them either, but someone told me that they make a BIG song and dance when a flight lands on time or early. Well they may have shot themselves in the foot with the pound to pee charge, i imagine they will be waiting around for late passengers who have nipped to the loo before they board ;).
 
Re the loos, the reports & their magazine states that the charging is only intended for short flights of an hour or less. Although if they have all the planes fitted then presumably it can easily be introduced for longer flights, when they choose.

But I have to confess we use them by choice for every trip to PP. The departure & arrival times between Stansted & PMI suit us better than easyjet who nearly always work out more expensive as well. So far we haven't experienced any delays or cancellations apart from the time when all planes were cancelled due to snow.

As has been mentioned before - quite often even when you do add up the charges, they are still cheaper than other airlines for certain destinations. So long as you are aware of the charges & do your research, then I don't think anyone can complain. After all it is the easyjets & ryanairs that have allowed a lot of us to travel abroad regularly & consider buying property abroad... :)
 
Sparky! They play a trumpet (pre-recorded, thankfully) when they land early, as in de-de-de-de:). Never rule them out, i've travelled a couple of times with them and they have been fine. Good times, modern planes and early arrivals, hence the trumpet:)
 
Passengers flying with budget airline Ryanair will have to pay more for checked-in luggage in the peak summer period, it has been announced.

The Irish no-frills carrier will raise its per-bag fee from £15 to £20 for all bookings made after midnight Tuesday for travel in July and August.

The £15 fee for checked-in bags will be in operation again from September.

Ryanair's Stephen McNamara said: "We are determined to incentivise passengers to travel light this summer by increasing our checked-in baggage fees for the months of July and August only.
"Over 70% of all Ryanair passengers will be unaffected by these changes because they travel with no checked-in bags."
 
lol bet the plane will have a bit of a smell on the way home!

2 weeks with away with hand luggage only - what a grubby lot that could be!
 
I don't go for buffets or all-you-can-eat places. Typically they serve trash to afford the volume. On top of that there's some logic that those who consume less offset those that consume more, so you're paying for someone else's meal.

I much rather go to a place that has exactly what I want for a specific price and know I'm getting good quality.

Ryanair sounds like my type of airline. Don't pay for everyone else's excess, only pay for what you use. :)

As much as we choose to go with Ryanair due to price (& timetable), I don't think that 'quality' is a word I'd associate with Ryanair! ;)
 
Got to agree with Pollensa.

Its an attitude problem I think which annoys so much. Theirs!
I don't think it matters if you pay lots or little - attitude and respect to customers costs nothing.
 
Ryanair £1 to spend a penny

We always fly to PP with Ryanair as our local Airport is just 15 mins away. The planes are new, cabin crew excellent and we have never had a delay. We have also flown with other carriers out of Bournemouth together with many airlines from Gatwick etc. I have to say Ryanair are the best and with flights round about £30 we can't complain! The £1 loo charge is bad but will not put us off.
 
I totally agree with any airline be it Ryanair, Easyjet or whoever charging extra for extras. Extras are things that are not compulsary and can be avoided like hold luggage, refreshments, spending a penny (or a pound!) etc. Afterall, if I choose to travel light, fast for two hours, and cross my legs, then why should I pay towards other people who don´t. What I do object to is the same airlines listing as extras things that cannot be avoided like airport charges, taxes etc.

If anyone is under the impression that the payment for "extras" by some will result in a reduction in the cost of flying, forget it. Charging for "extras" is just to boost Ryanair's profits.

Think i'll travel light this year, i won't be hard to spot, i'll be the guy you're talking about who "seems to wear the same clothes everyday":rolleyes:
