La nieve paraliza la floración de almendros - Diario de Mallorca[/url].

"Snow paralyses daily almond bloom Majorca" :(

I was reading last year that they had introduced a new variety of Almond tree that blossoms later to avoid the problems of frost attack which the older variety suffered. :)

Hope therefore that the effect is not as devastating for farmers and there will still be a good show of blossom for early visitors.

In previous visits we loved the views of the Almond Blossom from Randa

Video about Almond Blossom.

Thanks Gordon. I had forgotten about Randa. I now remember visiting it about 3 or 4 years ago, need to dig out the photos now.

And the almond blossom! What an informative video! Interesting about the Monaber Nou as well. Well done! ;)

Very interesting indeed! Think the blossom will just be over when we come over on the 22nd March...will def get there one year when trees out! Thanks Gordon

Re-- Ryanair, I would'nt fly with this company if the seats were free!!!!!!.. and no, i'm not joking.:(

I know it won't be "liked" by any of us but to be fair the cost of fuel, ITV and maintenance of the vehicles have increased. I am hoping there will be a new leaflet published by one of the taxi companies which gives a list of fares, will keep you informed.

Also in DB today, agreement has been reached for the shops between the Avenidas and the Jaume111 to open on Sundays and Bank holidays. The Corte D'Ingles on the avenidas is just outside the area but the other one will be open.

The taxi fare have been static for a while as well so they must be due a rise. 5% will be around 50 cents for the town port trip which isn't too bad!

It seems the regeneration of Gotmar has paused, i found this in the UH Gotmar, una urbanización abandonada » Denuncia » Blogs » Ultima Hora Mallorca.

I expected this, once the area around the Pollensa Park was upgraded they would run out of Money!! :(

After all, the Hoteliers have the political influence in Mallorca. It is they who are stopping the issue of licencing for private property and are behind the government issuing large fines (? 30,000 euros?) again to those that rent out without a licence as stated recently in the Daily Bulletin.

There were loads of men in uniform in El Posito today :p;).
The reason was that they are celebrating 75 years of the Military Base being in PP. :D

"Hey, hey, calm down, calm down now".

Anyway, to balance this out, any women ?!

:D;)
