It really has been a truly amazing day of weather - we keep pinching ourselves that we've been needing sun cream and spending most of the day in the pool, and it's nearly NOVEMBER!

God we love this place!

Hola y bon dia amigos. Another glorious morning but tomorrow is going to be a different story. Yellow alerts have been issued for thunderstorms, heavy rain and coastal phenomena . Wednesday morning looks wet but it should clear in the afternoon.
The pressure is 1014.
The humidity is 91%.
The UV index is 3.
The temperature is 21c in the shade and 23.7c in the sun.
The forecast for tomorrow is for storms and rain.

Hello Sparky,

We have just survived the storm here in the south of England with no big problems, but I note that the forecast is saying that there is a big one coming to Mallorca on Tuesday/Wednesday this week. Does that match your forecast?

AK

Yes AK as I said in my report we are on alert for tomorrow but I don't think we are going to get near hurricane force winds, at least I hope no .

Yellow Alert for rain, storms and coastal phenomena!!!

Hola y bon dia amigos. There are some really nasty looking clouds about and a stiff ENE wind but we are still getting some sunshine. There are yellow alerts for thunderstorms, heavy rain and coastal phenomena, I will keep you posted as the day goes on :).
The pressure is 1011.
The humidity is 71%.
The UV index is 3.
The temperature is 21c in the shade and 24.1c in the sun.
The forecast for tomorrow is for rain clearing and an orange alert for CP.

Just looking at eltiempo.es/baleares/lluvia/ looks heavy, but should clear through quickly!!

Just looking at the Palma webcam, its looks like the middle of the night!!!:eek::eek:

It's arrived, we now have a bit of thunder, lightning, wind and rain. The lights keep flickering so hope we don't lose the power .

Hmmm, I find there is only one course of action in that kind of weather. Into one of my favourite haunts and calm myself with a bottle of the old vino tinto and a paella. Works every time:)

We went to Marineland this morning, and the weather was lovely. We then decided to stop at Festival Park on the way back. It got darker and darker as we were driving there, and then just after we arrived the heavens opened. We took refuge in the coffee shop in the centre bit, whereupon it rained like I haven't seen many times in my life. Everyone was taking photos but then it all became a bit more serious when the rain started flooding through the ceiling! Buckets appeared from various places, but it wasn't enough to contain the rain, and before long there were rivers flowing across the floor of the cafe!!

Eventually it eased off enough for us to attemp the run back to the car - well, we literally had to run through rivers of water. I'm a big bloke, but the water was still over my size 12 feet - maybe sandles weren't such a good idea this morning...

Anyway, we're now back at the villa here in Pollensa, which fortunately is equipped with radiators - various footwear and items of clothing are now draped over the back of chairs!

But we still love it here!!

Weather is looking a lot dryer for the rest of the week which is good - hopefully it'll dry out in time for the market in the morning.

It seems that we got off very light in PP. A friend who works at the airport said it was horrendous in Palma, trees down, hailstones, flooding, lifts not working and planes unable to land for a while.........scary stuff guys :eek:.

I'm starting to trust my BBC weather forcast for alcudia and it's pretty accurate. Lituraly by the hour we had the thunderstorm on Wednesday at 5pm!, today was sun and cloudy but mainly sun which it is now and for sun tomorrow. The actual spanish forecast on the information hut is well off! So prepare for sun sun sun Thursday Friday and Saturday :-) :-) :-)
