Not long back from yet anoother lovely 2 week stay with the family (kids are 15 and 12), staying at the Playa Mar, as usual.
We had a car for 1 week so visited Valdemossa, Western water park, Cala San Vincente and the old town on market day.
Had a power cut 1 night and part of the following day in the hotel but they dealt with it well IMO, providing free food and drinks for all self catering guests during this period.
First night, my birthday, was the pre-booked Little Italy. Nice, but maybe not as nice as previous years, and never been a big fan of the service you get in there.
Other eats included....
Nicos, always good food and staff
Maxim bistro, first time visit, lovely pasta
Il Angelo, good pizza.pasta
Trip, good MDD
Tango....as great as ever (as a veggie some nice different dishes)
Laroc, always the best pasta around IMO
Oriental Dragon Chinese, good food and value, but slower than in the past but think new people in there.
Brisa ?? on the front, wife loved her steam, my pasta was average, most expensive meal we had.
Also tried a couple of new places.....La Bodeguita for a beer, just myself and wife and we still got some snacks with the drinks. Lunched at Dolc Sa Pobla a couple of times and really enjoyed it (majorcan bread with tomato and local cheese..mmm).
Tried Why Not one night for a drink, excellent value, returned a couple of nights later with 2 other families and they were hopeless. Told us not to come in as they had no ice.....they got some in the end, but no wine and no shorts....it was closed for the next few days but went in a few days later and was open again, but empty.
Also did the walk to CSV for the first time with my son and a couple of friends, was really good, followed by a few beers in CSV and a taxi home!!
All in all a great trip, roll on next year!!
