A few answers please

Hi there - I'm moving to Majorca and most probably PP within the year with my two children. Can anyone help me with the following:
- When applying for residency is it just passport (EU), photos and application form needed, I heard a bank statement with proof of funds was necessary and maybe a few other things.
- I am a school teacher but currently with the British Council, is there any private tuition required etc.
- Can I get a Spanish mortgage based on my current job outside Majorca and what % deposit is required on these as opposed to the 30% one can have to pay as a foreign investor.
- What cricket clubs are around (I love cricket), I have looked on the websites.
Apologies if any of these have obvious answers but I would appreciate some help. Thanks a lot.

Hi Alimac, firstly good luck with the move over here.
You can get a mortgage based on your UK employment, but I think I'm right in saying you can only get a maximum of 60%, so a deposit of 40% plus the 9to10%legal fees etc is needed to have cash in hand.
If you have a bank account number, you will have your NIE number. Although I got my residencia this year, I can't remember everything we needed to get it, but a lawyer in the Port will get it easily for you. I remember having to take my passport, two passport photos and a couple of copies of a form from the local town hall. It was a very easy process although as you are relying on others to help it can take a while. You then go down to Palma to have a finger print taken and then back again a month later to collect your residencia. We then went across the road and had two colour laminated copies made to carry with us rather than carry the original around.

Mallorca Cricket Club is situated just ten minutes walk north of Magaluf or thirty minutes walk from Palma Nova.

Set in the shadow of the Sierra Burguest mountains the clubhouse is converted from an old farm building and has its own bar and terrace facing the mountains.

The wicket is artificial and the outfield is rolled sand - both play well and consistently. There are two practice nets available.

Mallorca CC run three teams generally consisting of ex pats. A First XI plays on Saturdays, a Second XI playing on Sundays and a Mid-Week XI that play on Wednesdays.

Thanks to both of you for that - one other thing, does one have to collect the NIE and later the Residencia in person or can someone do it for you ie. if you aren't in the country - cheers again

Your solicitor will get your NIE number for you, and I collected my wife's Residencia without a problem
