Accommodation for one night

Looking at flights at the minute and one that interests me arrives the day before we would be able to access our apartment. Suggestions please - do we have an overnight in the Palma area and drive to PP the following day - or do we head to PP and look for accommodation for one night there?...OR is there anywhere on route that might be a good stopover for us. I am talking about mid July so unsure what would be the best option. Any suggestions for somewhere to stay would be welcome. Thanks

Do go to Hotels, Apartments - Puerto Pollensa (Port de Pollenca), Mallorca Majorca & put that date into the Alpharooms search box at the top & see what gets listed. You can then sort by price too.

Palma's a wonderful city. I'd source and book a hotel for one night online then get the bus for 2.50 euros from the airport and be in central Palma 20 minutes later. Enjoy the sights have a nice evening meal and then either bus, 8.05 euro's, or taxi, about 65 euro's? To PP.

Nick, from Palma to PP the bus fare is 6.05€ and a taxi is 75€ .

I would definitely stay in Palma and recommend Hotel Jaime 111, the bus from the airport stops outside and the hotel is a great base for sightseeing the beautiful city of Palma. We always have a night there before leaving for home and get the bus to the airport for only about 2euro. Price of hotel includes breakfast

We also do the same as Anna for a few nights Hotel jaime 111 is excellent.

Likewise stayed there a couple of times due to flights not tying in make it part of the holiday rather than an unforseen extra, see a bit of palma too some parts are beautiful particularly cathedral, parliment, seafront and marina areas

Thanks for all your suggestions. We will probably have a hire car so definitely would be looking for somewhere with parking...don't know if the hotel in Palma has suitable parking...any idea?

Have a look at the website for Hotel Jaime 111 and see if any parking, it is a central location so may not, could you arrange to pick up your hire car next morning for the drive to PP, if you collect at airport may not be easiest thing to drive into and park in Palma.

The Hotel Continental in Industria about 5 mins walk from Ave Jaime III. It has a small underground carpark accessed from the rear of hotel. When I stayed there I booked a space with Reception beforehand. Nice hotel. Not much in immediate vicinity but Santa Catalina area with lots of tapas bars and restaurant only a few mins walk away.

I would stay there again.

We arrived 2 days before our apartment was available last September so had 2 nights in Puerto de Soller which has a train and tram link into Palma and parking is easy in the resort.
This year we are having a couple of nights in Andratx before driving up to PP as we never seem to get that far down the island in a day trip.
Years ago we stayed in Santa Ponsa which has good bus service into Palma, I have only once driven into Palma and never again...
Had a couple of fab deals on alpharooms as half board has cost is less than a night in the apartment self catering

Had thought about perhaps an overnight elsewhere on the island. Soller or Valdemosa both crossed my mind, must admit didn't think of Andratx though. The thought of driving in Palma looking for a hotel doesn't do much for me Still haven't decided on flights so need to wait until they are finalised before making any definite decisions. Thanks

I have a suggestion which might appeal to you and is slightly different. The Agro tourism Son Siurana just outside Pollensa/Alcudia.

It is a lovely magical place with lots of history. The grounds and views are beautiful with chickens roaming free in the gardens. Beautiful Mallorcan furniture and wonderful artwork.
I believe Son Siurana is owned by a really nice lady named Isabella who owns a number of apartments along the Pine Walk.

I'm not sure if Son Siurana advertises on this site so won't put the link - just put .com after it's name.

Eleanor, this place looks wonderful. I think I would want to stay there for longer than one night though...perhaps duration of holiday!!

Yes it is lovely. We visited a couple of years back and just loved it. A little different from the normal hotel and certainly a place to remember.

Have now managed to book flights to correspond to availability at accommodation so unfortunately can't take advantage of Son Siurana...oh well there's always another time Thanks for all your suggestions though, they were much appreciated.
