The present work agreement does not expire until 31/03/10 i.e. in around 5 weeks time however ALL negotiations to date have failed (due to the wide discrepancy) so air traffic are using Easter (as the dates coincide) as a ransom situation - I agree with Ray insofar as they are they are doing very well anyway however I wouldn't be suprised if they go for a go slow - 'just to make a point'.

Easter Air Traffic Controller Strike in Spain Not Happening?

The Spanish airports authority, AENA, has claimed that normal service can be expected over the Easter period, despite earlier rumors of a Spanish Air Traffic Controller Strike at Easter.

It is now 'hoped' that air traffic controllers will use only legal means (that is, not striking) to protest against new work conditions.

For their part, the air traffic controllers union, USCA, has said they will work as normal over the Easter period.
